Liverpool has issued a statement regarding the upcoming match against Manchester United, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the game proceeds despite significant snowfall.
Following an emergency meeting, Liverpool has announced a significant update regarding the match against Manchester United in light of the severe snow conditions.
Manchester United is set to travel to Anfield for their Premier League clash this afternoon.
In light of the severe weather, the Liverpool City Council’s Safety Advisory Group convened to evaluate the situation and determine the match’s status. A final decision will be made by 12 PM.
“The City’s Ground Safety Advisory Group will reconvene at midday to reassess the match in light of potentially changing weather conditions,” the Liverpool City Council informed the Manchester Evening News.
Liverpool’s statement noted: “A safety meeting was conducted this morning to evaluate the weather and travel conditions for today’s match against Manchester United at Anfield.
Currently, the match is scheduled to proceed as planned, and all necessary measures are being taken to facilitate this. Another safety meeting will occur at midday to review the latest updates.”
Supporters are encouraged to exercise caution while traveling, as Liverpool added, “We will provide updates as soon as possible. Please stay safe, Reds.”
In the EFL, matches such as Chesterfield vs. Gillingham and Fleetwood Town vs. AFC Wimbledon have been postponed due to the adverse weather, while Crewe Alexandra vs. Bromley will still take place.
Following Liverpool’s announcement, Manchester United also communicated via X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Our match against Liverpool is currently expected to proceed, despite the snow and weather warnings affecting the North West today.
Please take care if you are traveling to the game — we will keep you informed of any updates.”

Inspections were conducted at Chepstow and Plumpton racecourses to determine if racing could proceed.
An update posted on X at 10:15 AM confirmed that races at Plumpton had been canceled due to weather conditions, while Chepstow reported that its course had successfully passed inspection and that races would continue as scheduled.
