Liverpool has ‘get green light’ as Slot targets a £108m double transfer in January. – Report…
Liverpool has received approval as Slot prepares for a £108 million dual transfer acquisition in January.
Liverpool is set to move forward with a £108 million double transfer in January, having gained the necessary clearance, as Slot strategizes his approach.
Reports indicate that Liverpool is aiming to acquire Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush for their squad.
Under the guidance of Arne Slot, Liverpool has made an impressive start to the season, currently sitting at the top of the Premier League after ten matches.
The team has secured victories in eight of those games and boasts the league’s strongest defense, having conceded only six goals.
Slot’s squad holds a two-point lead over defending champions Manchester City and is seven points ahead of Arsenal, who are currently fifth in the standings, trailing Nottingham Forest and Chelsea.
With Slot’s successful transition following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, Liverpool is eager to enhance their roster in the upcoming transfer windows.
Tchouameni was previously a target for Liverpool before his transfer to Real Madrid, and the club is now revisiting their interest as his situation at the Bernabeu becomes less favorable.
A report from Spain on Thursday suggested that Liverpool is preparing an initial bid of 60 million euros (£50m) to secure his services, while Football Insider has reported that Tchouameni is contemplating a move away from Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Although the 24-year-old has been a long-term target for Liverpool, securing a deal in January may prove challenging.
Tchouameni’s valuation remains high, and Real Madrid is reluctant to weaken their squad during the season as they prepare for a competitive La Liga title race against Barcelona and aim to defend their Champions League title.
Despite Toni Kroos’ retirement, Tchouameni’s standing with the club’s management has diminished, which could lead to a potential transfer next summer, making a move for Liverpool a viable option.
Sources indicate that a transfer at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season is a “realistic possibility” for Liverpool.
Spanish website Fichajes reports that Frankfurt forward Marmoush, who has netted 13 goals and provided seven assists in 14 matches across all competitions, is being targeted by Liverpool for a potential January transfer.
The Premier League club is closely monitoring the player and has not dismissed the possibility of making a substantial offer to secure his services.
The Liverpool recruitment team sees significant potential in the Egyptian striker, believing he could add a new dimension to their squad.
Liverpool is prepared to make an offer in the region of 70 million euros (£58 million) for Marmoush as they aim to enhance their attacking options under Slot.
As Liverpool prepares to face Aston Villa on Saturday evening, former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson predicts the match will end in a draw.
Merson shared his thoughts with Sportskeeda: “Aston Villa is currently experiencing a rough patch with three consecutive defeats in all competitions. This match is crucial for both teams.
I observed Brighton against Liverpool, and they actually outperformed Slot’s side for most of that encounter.
Brighton simply failed to make the right decisions in key moments, despite their overall strong performance.
In the end, Liverpool managed to secure the three points, as they often do.
“I don’t believe Liverpool is playing at a level that will guarantee them a win in this match.
If they allow Villa the same opportunities they gave Brighton, players like Jhon Duran and Ollie Watkins will capitalize on those chances. Liverpool was fortunate to win their last match, and I doubt they will have that same luck here.
“While Villa conceded four goals to Tottenham, that can happen against a team like Spurs. When Tottenham is in form, they can move the ball swiftly and score in quick succession.
Therefore, I’m not overly concerned about that result, and I genuinely believe Villa can pose challenges for Liverpool in this match.”
Luis Diaz’s impressive hat-trick in the Champions League was noteworthy, yet I anticipate that Darwin Nunez will reclaim his spot in the starting line-up for this match.
The first half against Leverkusen left much to be desired, highlighting a current issue for Liverpool: their performances are inconsistent, often only showing flashes of brilliance rather than sustained excellence.
They are managing to secure results, but not with the fluidity or excitement one would expect.
Curtis Jones has shown significant improvement, but I question whether he can start over Dominik Szoboszlai in this fixture.
Both players possess talent, yet as a manager, one might feel that Jones could be more effective as a substitute, bringing energy and impact late in the game.
He remains a quality player, and I see no reason he shouldn’t be in contention for an England call-up. My prediction for the match is a 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Aston Villa.
