Liverpool has been granted permission to pursue the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite his agent’s change of heart.
Approval has been given to Liverpool for the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite the agent’s reversal of position.
The club’s interest in the player remains strong, but it seems that only a substantial fee will secure his services this summer.
Liverpool has received the green light for the transfer of Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, even though the player’s agent recently changed his stance on the situation at the Italian club.
The Reds are still being associated with a potential move for the 23-year-old after a successful season with Napoli.
However, the chances of a transfer happening appear slim due to the high fee needed to secure his services from the Serie A team.
Additionally, new manager Antonio Conte has blocked any potential move for the Georgian player.
Shortly after Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Makuma Jugeli, and his father expressed their desire for the winger to leave Napoli this summer, the Italian club quickly released a statement asserting that Kvaratskhelia would not be departing.
However, Jugeli later suggested that his client could potentially sign a new contract in Naples, leading to conflicting reports.
Despite this, Liverpool has been informed that Kvaratskhelia would be a great fit for their system, as his playing style aligns well with theirs.
Georgian assistant coach Adel Chedli described Kvaratskhelia as a “top-end” player who would be well-suited for any Premier League team that plays fast, attacking football.
Chedli emphasized that Kvaratskhelia possesses the attributes and qualities to excel at the highest level in Europe.
He possesses exceptional talent. Observing him closely during training reveals his true abilities.
I believe he has the potential to accomplish remarkable feats in the sport. Not only is he a phenomenal talent, but he is also a wonderful individual. His presence in the team is invaluable, as he effortlessly integrates with the group.
Despite being humble, he exhibits a strong attitude and determination to excel – undoubtedly, he will have a remarkable career in the sport.
Liverpool’s initial interest in Kvaratskhelia was sparked last year after an outstanding first season with Napoli in 2022-23, where he contributed to their first league title in 33 years with 14 goals and 17 assists in 34 matches.
After a standout performance in Euro 2024 with underdog Georgia, the Reds are once again intrigued by the talented winger.
Jugeli has suggested a change in direction regarding his client’s situation, indicating the possibility of a new contract being signed to remain at Napoli.
However, he acknowledged that the final decision lies with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Jugeli mentioned that Kvaratskhelia is aiming to win the Scudetto if he doesn’t have the opportunity to play in the Champions League.
The player’s future is in the hands of Napoli’s president, who will decide whether to sell Kvaratskhelia or offer him a contract renewal.
