Liverpool have been given the go-ahead to secure the services of a prolific 33-goal scorer, who could potentially serve as a farewell gift for manager Jurgen Klopp. The club’s director has openly acknowledged that he anticipates the player’s departure.

According to reports, Liverpool have received approval to proceed with the acquisition of Johan Bakayoko from PSV Eindhoven during the summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp appears to have singled out the winger as an ideal parting gift for the Merseyside club. The Reds are currently facing a crucial summer as they search for a replacement for their iconic and charismatic manager Klopp, who will be leaving after a successful nine-year tenure.

Finding the right successor is now the top priority for FSG, the American owners of Liverpool, as they aim to make a seamless transition.

Liverpool has enlisted the help of a man hailed as the ‘world’s greatest leader’ to assist in their search, with one coach being told it is his “destiny” to take over from Klopp at Anfield.

Concerns are mounting that Klopp’s departure could trigger a chain reaction, potentially leading to the departure of some of the club’s top players. While van Dijk has downplayed rumors of leaving, Salah’s future remains uncertain with only a year left on his contract.

Amidst speculation that Salah could leave, reports suggest that a £200m bid from Al-Ittihad might tempt Liverpool to sell. Realistically, Liverpool may not be able to reject a record bid for the 31-year-old, especially considering his decreasing value as his contract nears its end.

Identifying a suitable replacement for Salah poses a challenge. Despite previous interest from the Saudis in the player, Liverpool must now focus on securing a successor. While players like Sane and Kubo have been mentioned, recent reports indicate Klopp’s preference for PSV’s Bakayoko.

It has been widely reported that Klopp has advised FSG that the nine-time Belgium winger could be the ideal replacement for Salah, should the decision be made to sell the Egyptian star.

Seen as Klopp’s parting gift to Liverpool, the 20-year-old is attracting interest from various clubs, including Brentford who had a bid rejected in the summer, and Manchester City who are also said to be monitoring the situation closely.

PSV director has provided a boost to Liverpool and other interested parties by stating that he anticipates the Eredivisie leaders will sell their star player this summer.

Ernie Stewart, the club’s sporting director, expressed his belief to Dutch outlet Voetbalkrant that Bakayoko will not continue playing at PSV next season. Bakayoko, who is valued at around €40m (£34m) by PSV, has made 17 goal contributions this season and has a total of 33 goals from 133 senior games in his career.
