Liverpool has received a potential transfer advantage regarding Anthony Gordon following Eddie Howe’s comments about Newcastle United.

Following Eddie Howe’s admission about Newcastle, Liverpool has gained an advantage in the pursuit of Anthony Gordon.

Earlier this summer, Newcastle was compelled to offload players, and Howe has indicated that the club will continue to experience player movements in future transfer windows.

While Liverpool has not yet made any signings this summer, they may have gained an advantage for their future transfer strategies.

The Reds’ attempt to acquire Martin Zubimendi to bolster their midfield was unsuccessful, and it appears unlikely that they will secure an alternative before the end of the month.

Sporting director Richard Hughes is diligently working to bring in a new player for Arne Slot, although the Dutch manager has expressed satisfaction with his current squad.

“I have stated numerous times that our squad is quite strong, making it challenging to find players who can enhance it,” the Dutch coach remarked.

“Zubimendi was one option, but he opted not to join us, so we will move forward with our existing team.

“We are in a favorable position, and Richard is actively seeking ways to improve the squad behind the scenes.”

“Zubimendi chose not to join, and Richard made every effort. We have retained the same team, although we have lost Thiago, Joel [Matip], and Adrian.

“While discussions about transfers are ongoing, we already possess a positive team.”

Alongside Zubimendi, the unexpected possibility of acquiring Anthony Gordon surfaced earlier this summer as Newcastle aimed to uphold their profitability and sustainability standards.

Reports indicated that Liverpool was dissatisfied with the proposed terms, but this may not be the final opportunity for such a transfer.

Being aware of this potential move could position Liverpool to respond more effectively.

Although Gordon is not expected to depart from the North East this month, Eddie Howe has acknowledged that future sales will be necessary.

“There’s not necessarily financial pressures to lose anybody before the end of this window,” Newcastle’s manager stated.

“However, player trading is essential, and we need to move players out as well as bring new ones in. This may not happen in the next two weeks, but it will certainly be required in the upcoming window.”

Thus far, the Magpies have managed to keep their key players this summer. Besides Gordon, both Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes have been frequently mentioned in connection with potential transfers.

Recently, Guimaraes was appointed as Newcastle United’s captain after leading the team in their opening match against Southampton.

Consequently, Jamaal Lascelles has taken on the role of club captain, while Kieran Trippier has reportedly been elevated to vice-captain.
