Liverpool continues to pursue the acquisition of £50 million South American talent, with a formal offer expected soon.
Liverpool is reportedly still focused on securing the services of Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, according to the Independent.
The Reds appear determined to strengthen their center-back options during this transfer window, having been linked with numerous players in recent weeks.
Initially, the Merseyside club had earmarked Leny Yoro as a key target, but he ultimately chose to sign with Manchester United.
Unfortunately, he has since suffered a metatarsal injury, which will keep him out of action for a significant period.
Liverpool have been exploring other options after missing out on Yoro, with defenders like Gleison Bremer, Goncalo Inacio, and Marc Guehi on their radar.
Pacho was previously a target for Liverpool, but recent reports suggest that their interest in him has waned.
Despite this, Arne Slot’s team is still interested in signing the Ecuadorian and may finalize a deal before the transfer window closes.
According to the Independent, Frankfurt could ask for a fee of approximately £50m for the 22-year-old, meaning Liverpool will need to make a significant investment to secure his services.
Liverpool is the only Premier League club that has yet to make a move in this transfer window.
However, the Independent reports that the Reds are now ready to intensify their pursuit of new signings and are planning to make their first official offer within the next 10 days.
Liverpool is in the market for a new holding midfielder, wide forward, and center-back. They are currently considering the potential signings of Martin Zubimendi and Anthony Gordon to strengthen these positions.
Pacho is a left-footed defender known for his versatility in playing both center-back and left-back positions. He possesses speed, strength, good ball-playing abilities, defensive prowess, and excellent game reading skills.
Having impressed in the Bundesliga and showcased his talent in the Copa America, this South American player has caught the attention of many.
If Liverpool successfully secures his signature in the current transfer window, he could prove to be a valuable addition to their defensive line.
