Liverpool has announced that a key player will be sidelined for the upcoming matches, with seven players potentially missing the Everton derby.

The club has confirmed that a prominent player will not participate in the next two fixtures, with the possibility of seven others missing the crucial derby against Everton.

Alexis Mac Allister will not participate in Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton.

The midfielder received his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season during the Reds’ 3-3 draw with Newcastle United, receiving the caution in the 20th minute of the match.

According to league regulations, any player who accumulates five yellow cards before their team’s 19th match must serve a one-match suspension.

As a result, Arne Slot will have to navigate his first derby without the Argentine international, which is particularly significant as it will be the last derby held at Goodison Park before Everton relocates to their new stadium.

Additionally, Mac Allister will also miss Liverpool’s Champions League match against Girona next week due to having received three bookings thus far.

“Alexis Mac Allister will be suspended for Liverpool’s trip to Everton this weekend,” the club’s media team stated.

“The midfielder received his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season during the first half of Wednesday’s draw with Newcastle United.

He will serve a one-match suspension and will miss the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Mac Allister is also suspended for the Champions League match against Girona next week.”

With Mac Allister’s absence, Liverpool could be without seven players for the match against Everton.

Ibrahima Konate (knee) and Conor Bradley (hamstring) are expected to be out for several weeks, while Kostas Tsimikas (ankle) remains unavailable.

Alisson Becker is being carefully managed as he recovers from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for two months, and Diogo Jota has also been out for a similar duration due to a rib injury.

Federico Chiesa made a subdued return to action for Liverpool’s under-21 team, scoring in a 4-3 defeat to Nordsjaelland in the Premier League International Cup at the AXA Training Centre.

The winger has faced injury challenges since joining from Juventus last summer.
