Liverpool’s attacking player is set to remain at Anfield for the upcoming season, while it has been decided that three experienced players will depart alongside Jurgen Klopp.

The club is preparing for significant changes in the squad, with plans already in motion despite the absence of a new manager.

Klopp’s departure after a successful nine-year tenure comes as the team faces challenges in the latter part of the season, although they have secured the League Cup and continue to compete for the Premier League title.

Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim is the frontrunner to take over, known for his preference for a 3-4-3 formation and the freedom to mold the squad according to his vision.

Two reports from Football Insider have indicated that several player decisions have been finalized prior to Liverpool’s new manager being appointed.

One of the decisions is that Fabio Carvalho will not be sold or loaned out for a third time. Instead, he will have the opportunity to showcase his abilities at Merseyside.

Liverpool finally managed to secure the signing of Carvalho in the summer of 2022 after facing initial setbacks. The Reds had initially aimed to bring in the former Fulham player six months earlier, but due to a failure to finalize the deal before the January transfer deadline, they had to wait for an additional six months.

However, Carvalho’s time at Anfield has been far from fruitful. The 21-year-old has had limited opportunities, accumulating only 638 minutes of playing time in his debut season. As a result, he was loaned out to RB Leipzig for the current campaign.

Unfortunately, Carvalho’s loan spell in Germany did not go as planned, as he was only given a single start in the Bundesliga. Consequently, Liverpool decided to terminate the loan deal in January and arranged for another loan move, this time to Championship side Hull City.

Since joining Hull, Carvalho has experienced a remarkable transformation and has been in excellent form. He has impressively scored eight goals in just 16 appearances for the club.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, has reported that Carvalho’s impressive performance has attracted a lot of attention from various clubs.

Hull, the club where Carvalho is currently on loan, has expressed their desire to permanently sign him if they get promoted to the Premier League.

However, a recent update from FI reveals that Carvalho will be given another opportunity to showcase his abilities under a new manager at Liverpool next season.

It is evident that Liverpool has always had faith in Carvalho’s potential, as they have chosen not to include any options to buy in their loan agreements with Leipzig and Hull.

Three experienced players leaving

In another update, a subsequent announcement from FI revealed that the trio of veterans – Adrian, Joel Matip, and Thiago Alcantara – will not be receiving contract extensions.

All three players are set to leave as their contracts expire this summer, making them free agents.

Adrian’s role at Liverpool has diminished with the emergence of Caoimhin Kelleher as a reliable backup to Alisson Becker.

Matip will be remembered as one of the top free agent signings in Liverpool and Premier League history.

The 32-year-old will always be held in high regard by the fans at Anfield, having made more than 200 appearances for the Reds despite frequently dealing with injuries.

Furthermore, Thiago, who is now 33, is also anticipated to depart as he has faced significant challenges in maintaining his fitness during his time at Anfield.

Thiago’s departure, in particular, will significantly reduce the wage bill and provide ample financial support for Liverpool’s new manager to make substantial investments in the transfer market.
