Jurgen Klopp has revealed that there is a new injury setback for Liverpool as they prepare to take on Arsenal…
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that a 24-year-old Liverpool player is currently injured, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming Arsenal game.
With a crucial match at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, Liverpool’s position at the top of the Premier League table is at stake.
Despite several players making successful comebacks from their previous injuries, Klopp’s team now faces the possibility of missing a key 24-year-old player for the game against Arsenal.
The Reds are set to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this Sunday in a highly anticipated match at the summit of the Premier League standings. Liverpool has recently welcomed back several players from injury, bolstering their squad options.
However, during his pre-Arsenal press conference this morning, Klopp disclosed a new selection concern – Darwin Nunez. The manager expressed uncertainty regarding Nunez’s availability, explaining that he had suffered a foot injury during the game against Chelsea.
Nunez endured significant pain and only removed his boot after the match, as he suspected something was wrong. Although X-rays revealed no fractures, his foot is swollen, and it remains to be seen if he will be able to wear a boot.
It is unfortunate for Darwin that Nunez is not available for Sunday’s match, as indicated by Jurgen’s comments. The best-case scenario would be for the 24-year-old to at least be on the bench. If there is any possibility for him to contribute, Liverpool must ensure that he gets the opportunity.
Nunez can still have a significant impact as a substitute and could pose a challenge for a fatigued Arsenal team. Nevertheless, it would have been preferable to have him starting the game. Despite not scoring on Wednesday, the Uruguayan had an impressive performance.
It would have been preferable to see him on the field right from the beginning. Despite not scoring a goal on Wednesday, the Uruguayan player had an exceptional performance. Rio Ferdinand even compared him to his compatriot and former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after the match.
Although he didn’t manage to score, he caused a lot of trouble for the Chelsea defense throughout the entire game. What makes it even more impressive is that he did so despite suffering from a swollen foot early on.
Considering his strong performance, Arsenal would not have been eager to face him.
Fortunately, it seems like Darwin’s injury won’t be a long-term problem. Let’s hope to see him included in the team lineup in some capacity on Sunday.
