Mark Lawrenson makes significant claims regarding a potential Liverpool exit during a live segment on TalkSPORT.

During a live broadcast on TalkSPORT, Mark Lawrenson reveals major insights about a possible departure from Liverpool.

Mark Lawrenson has made a significant claim regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future during a live segment on TalkSPORT, suggesting that the player has already made arrangements to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid once his contract expires.

The team, under Arne Slot, has enjoyed a strong start to the season, currently leading the Premier League after seven matches and achieving victories in their first two Champions League games against AC Milan and Bologna.

Despite the positive atmosphere surrounding Liverpool’s performance, concerns are mounting regarding the futures of key players.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract is set to end this season, and he has not yet reached an agreement for an extension. Additionally, there are uncertainties regarding Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk.

Lawrenson expressed his belief that Alexander-Arnold has made a decision to depart. As the vice captain enters the final year of his contract, speculation about his future intensifies.

During his appearance on TalkSPORT, Lawrenson shared his thoughts on why a move to Real Madrid would be an appealing opportunity.

He stated:

“I believe he has already made up his mind to leave. His close friend plays there, doesn’t he? He’s an intelligent individual who might feel he has accomplished everything he can at Liverpool.

“Perhaps he’s considering a move to Spain to learn the language and experience a new challenge. Who wouldn’t want to play for Real Madrid? They seem to win the Champions League every year.”

Alexander-Arnold is a product of Liverpool’s youth academy and made his first-team debut for the club under former manager Jurgen Klopp during a League Cup match in October 2016.

Since then, he has accumulated over 300 appearances for his childhood club and has provided more than 80 assists throughout his career.

Recent weeks have seen increased speculation linking Jude Bellingham with the Liverpool star.

Reports indicate that despite growing connections to clubs in the Spanish capital, Liverpool remains optimistic about Alexander-Arnold’s contract extension, contrary to some international reports.

Negotiations for an extension are reportedly ongoing as his current contract approaches its conclusion.

According to The Athletic, Alexander-Arnold is considered a key target for the La Liga giants, although they are also exploring alternatives, such as Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong. A transfer for the Liverpool defender would only be viable if he allows his contract to expire.

Sources from GMS reveal that Alexander-Arnold envisions himself as a future captain of Liverpool, yet he has had discussions with his England teammate Jude Bellingham regarding a potential move to La Liga.

It has been noted that the Liverpool defender has shown curiosity about life in Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold last renewed his contract in the summer of 2021, and it is somewhat unexpected that a club of Liverpool’s caliber has permitted one of their most valuable players to enter the final year of his contract.

This situation can partly be attributed to recent turmoil within the club’s management and Klopp’s exit, but it is now a challenge that Richard Hughes must address.
