‘Going to leave’: Club believes that their “exceptional” player will leave following speculation linking him with Liverpool…

The club is preparing for the departure of their “exceptional” player amidst rumors linking him to Liverpool.

Liverpool is reportedly gearing up to make an offer to acquire a Brazilian player, with speculation suggesting that personal terms are already close to being agreed upon.

Arne Slot is determined to propel Liverpool further in the 2024/25 season, following a promising 2023/24 campaign that ultimately fell short under Jurgen Klopp’s management.

It seems that both the Dutchman and Michael Edwards are prioritizing the recruitment of a new defensive midfielder, as preparations are underway for a potential bid.

Liverpool set to bid for Ederson

According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool is getting ready to make a move for Atalanta’s No.13, Ederson.

Ederson had a remarkable 2023/24 season in Bergamo, featuring in 53 matches across all competitions as Atalanta secured a fourth-place finish in Serie A and clinched the UEFA Europa League title.

His standout performance in the UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, where Atalanta triumphed 3-0, was hailed as “truly sensational” by Eurosport Italy.

Notably, Ederson faced Liverpool twice in the UEFA Europa League Quarter-Finals, catching the eye of the Reds who are now reportedly preparing a bid.

Reports from Caught Offside suggest that Liverpool are set to table an offer of approximately £42m to acquire Ederson for Anfield.

Sports Zone reported that Liverpool is nearing a verbal agreement with the 24-year-old regarding personal terms, following their claim.

Arne Slot may be gradually replacing Wataru Endo. Ederson plays in the defensive midfield position, which is where Wataru Endo featured in 29 Premier League matches last season.

Liverpool is in need of another defensive midfielder, as Alexis Mac Allister is more suited to an attacking role, despite being able to play as a No.6 for the Reds.

Hence, the potential bid for Ederson may indicate that Slot is considering replacing Endo in the starting XI with a player who is seven years younger than the Japan international.

It is important to note that Liverpool No.3 will not be completely excluded, as there will still be opportunities to play in the UEFA Champions League and domestic cup competitions.

Stay updated on this development, as Liverpool appears to be advancing well in their efforts to acquire Ederson.
