Federico Chiesa was noticed partaking in a lighthearted moment during Liverpool’s training, resulting in laughter from Mo Salah and Luis Diaz.
While training with Liverpool, Federico Chiesa was seen doing something that brought joy and laughter to Mo Salah and Luis Diaz.
Chiesa’s injury status has been a concern, as the Liverpool winger has been sidelined for the last nine matches.
The player is making strides in his recovery, aiming to achieve full fitness with the Reds.
Since transferring from Juventus for £10 million during the summer transfer window, Chiesa has faced challenges.
Having been sidelined by the Italian club, he missed out on a proper pre-season, resulting in him arriving in Liverpool without adequate fitness and experiencing a slow start to his career at the club.
To date, Chiesa has participated in only three matches and has been unavailable for the last nine due to injury.
He is expected to miss the upcoming match against Southampton as Liverpool seeks to maintain their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
During his pre-match press conference, head coach Arne Slot indicated that Chiesa was scheduled to take part in some of Friday’s training. This indeed occurred.
In the latest episode of Inside Training shared on the club’s website, Chiesa was seen participating in Liverpool’s warm-up.
He then joined a rondo drill alongside teammates including Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Andy Robertson. The session progressed to a passing drill with mini goals, where Chiesa continued to interact with his colleagues.
The 27-year-old displayed a positive demeanor and showcased impressive skills in tight situations.
At one moment, he humorously feigned stopping the drill by placing his hand down before passing the ball, which elicited laughter from Salah and Diaz.
Liverpool remains cautious regarding Chiesa’s return, with Slot acknowledging that the final stages of rehabilitation can be the most challenging.
Nonetheless, this training session was a promising indication that Chiesa is on the right track, and he is eager to demonstrate his abilities once he receives clearance for match participation.
Diogo Jota is nearing a comeback from a rib injury, which will soon provide Slot with six attacking options.
This development is particularly timely as Liverpool faces a demanding schedule, striving to maintain their Premier League title pursuit while leading the Champions League standings and advancing to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
