Fabrizio Romano reveals that Arsenal is entirely focused on signing an ‘incredible’ player…
Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal is entirely dedicated to acquiring an ‘incredible’ player.
As the transfer window approaches its conclusion, Arsenal has significant tasks ahead.
Many observers believe that the club still requires a new striker and a right winger; however, there are currently no imminent moves for either position.
In a recent discussion on The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano indicated that Arsenal is not actively pursuing new attacking players at this time, as their primary focus is on securing Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.
Arsenal’s attention is firmly set on Mikel Merino, and Romano provided insights regarding the ‘incredible’ midfielder.
The focus is not solely on transferring Nketiah; rather, it revolves around identifying a suitable opportunity for a new striker. Currently, sources indicate that Arsenal’s primary attention is directed towards Mikel Merino.
They are actively pursuing an agreement for the Spanish midfielder to transfer from Real Sociedad, as noted by Romano.
“There is a consensus with the player, and negotiations are ongoing with Real Sociedad regarding the deal’s framework.”
Arsenal is adopting a one-deal-at-a-time approach. While there is limited activity concerning attacking signings at Arsenal, this is the strategy they have chosen for the summer.
Fabrizio Romano has recently emphasized that Arsenal is focusing on one transaction at a time this summer, reiterating this point in relation to the Mikel Merino negotiations while also managing the Riccardo Calafiori transfer.
Arsenal is looking to secure one midfielder this summer, with Mikel Merino being a prominent candidate. According to Romano, there have been discussions with the player’s representatives.
However, they have yet to make an official offer to Real Sociedad. The reason for this is Arsenal’s preference for a methodical approach, handling one deal at a time.
Currently, they are focused on finalizing the acquisition of Calafiori before initiating serious negotiations for a midfielder.
Should Arsenal successfully bring Merino on board, they will then shift their focus to addressing another position.
With the Premier League season set to commence in just over a week, Arsenal must expedite their efforts to finalize these transactions.
