According to Fabrizio Romano, it is confirmed that 28-year-old David Raya will be joining Arsenal permanently next season.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Arsenal’s intentions regarding David Raya for the upcoming season.

The Gunners secured the services of the 28-year-old goalkeeper on loan from Brentford for the current season. Raya has impressed with his performances and has established himself as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Having featured in 22 Premier League matches and being a regular in the Champions League, Raya played a crucial role in Arsenal’s recent victory over FC Porto in a penalty shootout.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Ramsdale’s future, Arsenal has a clear plan in place for David Raya. According to a reliable journalist’s Daily Briefing, it is guaranteed that Raya will permanently join the Gunners in the summer.

The two clubs have reached a gentleman’s agreement that Arsenal will acquire Raya for £27m at the conclusion of his loan spell.

Providing insight into the situation, Romano stated, “I have some news about the standout performer of the night in the penalty shootout against Porto, David Raya. He will undoubtedly become an Arsenal player next season. I previously mentioned in October and November that Arsenal had a verbal agreement with Brentford to sign Raya last summer.”

“However, due to Financial Fair Play regulations, the deal was altered, and Arsenal opted for a loan agreement with a purchase option. As part of this arrangement, the two clubs agreed that Arsenal would secure David Raya’s services for £27m.”

Raya has been relishing his time at Arsenal and has played a pivotal role this season, propelling the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table, surpassing Manchester City on goal difference.

It would be logical for all parties involved to come to an agreement next summer, allowing Raya to smoothly complete his transfer.

According to Romano, Ramsdale is anticipated to depart the club during the summer. The English goalkeeper commenced the match against Brentford, securing a 2-1 victory last week. With only six Premier League starts this season, it would be sensible for him to seek regular playing time elsewhere.
