Erling Haaland faces verdict on Premier League ban following the incident in the Manchester City vs Arsenal match.

The verdict regarding Erling Haaland’s Premier League ban has been announced after the controversial moment in the Manchester City and Arsenal game.

In the aftermath of Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City, discussions have arisen regarding a potential ban for Erling Haaland due to an altercation involving Gabriel.

Former Premier League referee Mark Halsey has shared his insights on the possibility of a suspension for Haaland, who was involved in several key moments during the contentious match.

The first significant incident occurred just five minutes into the game when Haaland, seemingly reacting to Kai Havertz’s shoulder challenge on Rodri, made a robust tackle on William Saliba, narrowly avoiding a card.

Shortly thereafter, the prolific striker scored the opening goal with a precise finish after receiving a pass from Savinho.

Arsenal quickly regrouped and took the lead just over 30 minutes later.

However, the dynamics shifted dramatically with Leandro Trossard’s red card just before halftime, which allowed Haaland and his teammates to exert more pressure in the second half.

Despite Arsenal’s strong defensive efforts, Haaland managed to create several scoring opportunities, but it was John Stones who ultimately found the net, converting a scramble in the penalty area deep into stoppage time.

Following the goal, Haaland reacted by throwing the ball at the back of Gabriel’s head while the Arsenal defender was turned away.

Haaland created complete turmoil for the next five minutes after Arsenal resumed play, aggressively colliding with Thomas Partey.

Following the final whistle, he had another confrontation with Gabriel and engaged in a heated exchange with former City player Gabriel Jesus, openly expressing his views on Mikel Arteta.

The altercation with Gabriel, in particular, is considered more serious, with former referee Halsey suggesting that Haaland could face retrospective punishment.

“One could argue it constitutes violent conduct, as it resembles throwing an object at someone’s head, akin to a punch,” he remarked to The Sun.

“He should consider himself fortunate that referee Michael Oliver missed it and that VAR also overlooked the incident. It will be intriguing to see if the FA decides to take any retrospective measures, as it could be interpreted as violent conduct.”

At the time, VAR reviewed the incident and deemed it acceptable, and it has since been confirmed that the Football Association will not pursue any further action.
