Arsenal has received a resounding recommendation from Emmanuel Petit to go to great lengths in their pursuit of a top-class Premier League winger, leaving behind their rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.

Emmanuel Petit is urging Arsenal to make every effort to secure the signing of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, surpassing their Premier League competitors Manchester United and Chelsea.

Olise has garnered attention from several top Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, following an impressive yet brief season with Palace. Despite being limited to only 13 starts due to injuries, the 22-year-old has managed to contribute 10 goals and five assists, playing a crucial role in Crystal Palace’s escape from the relegation battle and securing a mid-table finish.

Palace is preparing themselves for substantial offers for Olise, as well as his in-form teammate Eberechi Eze, with both United and Chelsea being strongly linked to potential summer moves.

However, Petit, a World Cup winner and former Premier League star, is urging Arsenal to secure a deal for Olise and believes they should go to great lengths to outmaneuver their rivals and secure his signature.

During Palace’s 4-0 win over Manchester United on May 6, Michael Olise caught my eye. I was truly impressed by his performance,’ Petit shared with Grosvenor Sport.

‘Arsenal must make every effort to secure his signature ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea. The skills he displayed during the match, along with Eze, would have resulted in serious injuries back in my playing days.

‘I couldn’t help but feel they were showing off, but fortunately, they are playing in 2024. On a serious note, Olise and Eze were outstanding.

‘If I had to make a choice, I would opt for both, but Olise’s style suits Arsenal’s right flank better. Pairing him with Saka would greatly benefit Arsenal, as they still lack that element, and Olise has shown significant improvement over the years.

‘If I were Olise, I would also choose Arsenal because I seek ambition in my career, and my future no longer lies at Crystal Palace.’

Oliver Glasner, the new manager of Crystal Palace, expressed his hope that both Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze will remain at Selhurst Park during the summer transfer window.

He emphasized that the club will make every effort to retain their services. Glasner, speaking to BBC Sport following Palace’s impressive victory over Manchester United, acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the composition of the squad for the upcoming season. He praised the two players, describing them as exceptional talents within an extraordinary group.

In a similar vein, Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen revealed his desire for Olise and Eze to stay, even expressing his intention to send them supportive messages throughout the summer.

The Eagles, who have enjoyed a successful run of five wins in their last six games, securing a 12th place position in the Premier League, will face Aston Villa, currently in fourth place, on the final day of the season.
