‘Doesn’t look right’: VAR told they committed a serious error in the Liverpool vs Fulham match on Saturday, leading to questions about the accuracy of their decisions…

VAR was informed of a significant mistake made during the Liverpool vs Fulham match on Saturday, which raised concerns.

Concerns have been raised regarding a major error made by VAR during the Liverpool vs Fulham game on Saturday, as it did not appear to be correct.

Liverpool managed to secure a draw against Fulham in a match that could have severely impacted their title aspirations.

Fortunately, they remain in a favorable position, as both Arsenal and Manchester City also dropped points.

Nonetheless, this match posed a considerable challenge for Liverpool, who were fortunate to leave with a draw after playing more than an hour with only ten players.

Andrew Robertson received a red card early in the encounter at Anfield, and former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher expressed his disagreement with the decision during The Weekend Wrap.

Gallagher voiced his concerns regarding the red card issued to Robertson, stating that he does not believe it warranted such a punishment, as Harry Wilson was not in a clear goalscoring position at the time of the foul.

“I have my doubts about it. I don’t think it denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity,” Gallagher remarked.

“Looking back, there are too many factors to consider. Was he in control of the ball? Definitely not. Was he likely to gain control? I doubt it.

“Was he heading towards the goal? Certainly not. I have my doubts; I don’t think it was justified.”

When asked why VAR did not intervene, Gallagher responded, “They probably don’t share my perspective.

I believe that if a red card is to be issued, I would stop play unless someone is about to score.

The whistle was blown when Van Dijk cleared the ball, which caused everyone to reassess the situation, and in hindsight, it doesn’t seem correct.”

How has Liverpool’s relationship with referees been this season?

Liverpool has valid reasons to question the red card given to Robertson on Saturday, as Gallagher pointed out that it appeared to be a questionable decision.

However, it is also worth noting that Liverpool has benefited from favorable calls on several occasions this season.

Curtis Jones’ handball during the match against Chelsea went unnoticed prior to Liverpool receiving a penalty, while Diogo Jota narrowly avoided a red card in Liverpool’s tight victory over Wolves.

In another match, Gabriel Jesus netted a late goal at Anfield, but Arsenal’s effort was controversially ruled out.

Liverpool experienced some misfortune against Fulham; however, such incidents tend to balance out over the course of a season.

To date, Liverpool has encountered a mix of favorable and unfavorable refereeing decisions this year.

Although Andrew Robertson’s red card on Saturday was disappointing, it was not among the most questionable calls seen in the Premier League this season.
