Liverpool is reportedly nearing an agreement to secure the signing of a star valued at over £40 million, who has recorded 16 goals and assists in the 2024/25 season.

According to reports, Liverpool is on the verge of finalizing a deal to acquire a player worth more than £40 million, boasting 16 goal contributions in the 2024/25 campaign.

Liverpool has initiated discussions regarding a potential acquisition of a new forward for the 2025 season, aiming to strengthen their squad under the management of Arne Slot, who has made a remarkable start since taking over from Feyenoord.

Liverpool Faces a Challenge with Mo Salah.

Currently topping the Premier League scoring charts and ranking second in assists, trailing only Bukayo Saka, Mohamed Salah is having another outstanding season at Anfield.

Salah’s exceptional performance has been pivotal to Liverpool’s success this season, as they sit two points ahead at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand, and have already secured advancement to the next round of the Champions League with a perfect record of six wins from six matches, a feat unmatched by any other team.

Out of their 31 goals in the Premier League, Salah has been involved in 22, accounting for an impressive 71% of the team’s total goals, either by scoring or assisting.

Despite these remarkable statistics, Salah will require additional support from his teammates in the attacking line if Slot aims to bring home trophies in his inaugural season, as only Luis Diaz has scored more than three goals alongside Salah in the current Liverpool squad.

Even if Salah is on the verge of signing a new contract, which appears increasingly probable, the team must find ways to alleviate some of the scoring and playmaking responsibilities from him in the upcoming months, potentially looking to the transfer market for solutions.

Liverpool Engages with Promising Forward.

According to a recent report by Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool has reached out to Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, with a possible move being considered as early as the January transfer window, as the Nigerian, formerly of Everton, continues to shine in Serie A.

Lookman, who netted a hat-trick in the final to secure the Europa League for La Dea last May, has recorded eight goals and four assists in Serie A this season, along with three goals and an assist in five Champions League matches, contributing to a goal or assist approximately every 65 minutes as he plays a pivotal role in Atalanta’s title pursuit.

Despite his impressive performance, Atalanta is reportedly open to allowing Lookman to leave and has informed him that they will not obstruct his exit if a suitable offer is made.

The former Everton player, who appeared 48 times for the Toffees, has attracted interest from clubs across Europe since last summer, but he is eager to return to England.

According to reports, Liverpool is among several Premier League teams that have already reached out to his representatives regarding a possible transfer.

It has been noted that the club “will not entertain” any offers below €50 million (£41 million), which could pose a challenge for any potential deal, while Liverpool’s current forward lineup may need adjustments to accommodate Lookman’s addition.

Thus, a transfer may be more likely to occur in the summer.

However, with Lookman’s contract in Bergamo set to expire in 2026, a move appears imminent, and Liverpool is actively pursuing the former Everton player.
