Tottenham’s squad for their upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa is set to receive a boost with the return of Pedro Porro. The 24-year-old had been sidelined for the past two games due to a muscular problem, but after participating in training this week, he may potentially take the place of Emerson Royal in the starting lineup.

Spurs are set to travel to Villa Park following their impressive 3-1 triumph over Crystal Palace. Manager Ange Postecoglou provided an update ahead of the match, stating that all the players from last week’s game are fit and ready to go. Pedro Porro has trained throughout the week without any issues.

However, the rest of the team, including Richarlison, is still not training with the main group and will be unavailable. Despite expressing his desire to play against Villa, Richarlison was unable to feature in the Palace game.

Furthermore, Pape Matar Sarr experienced some discomfort after playing the final eight minutes of the Eagles’ victory. Postecoglou mentioned that Sarr has been dealing with a back problem since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

He has been managing the situation and there has been improvement, although he is not completely free from it yet. We are actively addressing this issue with him. Despite the restrictions, he continues to train. We are constantly working on it, but based on the information I have, he will be okay. As I mentioned, he has not missed any training sessions, so we are just focusing on helping him through this.

Here is a breakdown of the 20-man squad that Postecoglou will have available:

Goalkeepers: Guglielmo Vicario, Brandon Austin.

Defenders: Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Emerson Royal, Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin.

Midfielders: Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, James Maddison, Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso.

Forwards: Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson.
