Chiesa begins as Liverpool implements eight changes against West Ham, with two young players expected to participate in the match – Projected 4-2-3-1 lineup.
The lineup from last night’s Liverpool U21s suggests that two young players are poised to participate against West Ham – a perspective worth considering.
Liverpool has secured 12 points from their initial five Premier League matches this season, currently positioned second in the standings, just one point behind Manchester City.
The focus now shifts to the Carabao Cup, where Liverpool will host West Ham United in a third-round match at Anfield this evening.
At present, the Merseyside club is relatively free of injury concerns, although Harvey Elliott will not be available as he is sidelined until next month. Alisson also missed last weekend’s match and is not expected to play tonight.
Consequently, Arne Slot is likely to retain Caoimhim Kelleher as the goalkeeper. The Dutch manager is anticipated to rest several first-team players, leading to potential alterations in the starting XI from the previous game against Bournemouth.
Jarell Quansah may be preferred over Ibrahima Konate in defense, partnering with Virgil van Dijk in central defense.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to be rested, paving the way for Conor Bradley to take the right-back position, while Konstantinos Tsimikas could start on the left side, ahead of Andrew Robertson.
Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo might make their first starts of the season, which would likely see Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch on the bench. Dominik Szoboszlai is projected to occupy the No.10 position.
In the attacking lineup, Diogo Jota could return to the starting XI in place of Darwin Nunez, with Cody Gakpo potentially taking the left flank role, replacing the in-form Luis Diaz.
According to Paul Joyce, Federico Chiesa is expected to make his first start for Liverpool tonight, which may result in Mohamed Salah being rested.
