Burnley manager Vincent Kompany showered praise on a single Arsenal player for his outstanding performance yesterday
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany showered praise on a single Arsenal player for his outstanding performance yesterday, expressing his astonishment at the player’s hunger for goals even after scoring five. Kompany described this player as a rare breed and couldn’t help but wonder if he was human or a machine.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his admiration for Martin Odegaard’s outstanding performance against Burnley in the Premier League. The Gunners extended their impressive winning streak with a convincing 5-0 triumph at Turf Moor.
Odegaard wasted no time in finding the back of the net, scoring within the first four minutes of the match. Additionally, he played a crucial role in assisting Bukayo Saka’s second goal during the encounter.
Following the resounding victory, Arteta shared his delight for the team’s captain, emphasizing that Odegaard is currently experiencing a remarkable period of form and timing it perfectly.
In an interview with Arsenal.com, he expressed, “In terms of confidence, he is currently in a fantastic state, both physically and in his overall performance. His defensive and attacking abilities, along with his connection and movement on the right-hand side, have been truly impressive. He is definitely in top form.”
Following his goal at Turf Moor, Odegaard covered his ears, possibly in response to recent criticism of Arsenal’s celebrations. When questioned about this, Arteta responded, “I didn’t notice that gesture, so I can’t comment on it.”
“However, he was extremely happy in the dressing room. Once again, his performance today was exceptional. I believe he doesn’t need to convey any specific message; he should simply continue being himself.”
Arsenal has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing five consecutive league victories since the beginning of the year, a first in the club’s history. The team has been in exceptional form, scoring a total of 21 goals in those wins. The recent training camp in Dubai has clearly made a significant impact, especially considering they only managed to score four goals in the five matches prior to the trip.
Manager Arteta will be looking to maintain this impressive winning streak as they prepare to face Porto in the Champions League. The upcoming first leg match at Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday will be a crucial test for the Gunners.
Despite their winless record in their last three away matches against Porto, with one draw and two losses, Arsenal has the opportunity to break this streak and gain a valuable advantage for the second leg.
