Bukayo Saka’s injury status has been clarified: An update on Bukayo Saka’s condition as the Arsenal player exits the stadium with a limp following England’s defeat…
Bukayo Saka’s injury status has come to light following his exit from the pitch during England’s loss to Greece on Thursday night.
Lee Carsley provided insights regarding the injury sustained by Saka, who was assisted off the field in the 52nd minute, with Noni Madueke taking his place.
The Arsenal forward appeared to experience a hamstring issue while attempting to make a cross, leaving Arsenal anxious to determine the extent of the injury.
If it is merely tightness, Saka could be sidelined for just a few days; however, a strain could keep him out for several weeks.
In his post-match comments, Carsley mentioned, “He’s being assessed. Clearly, during the buildup to the first goal, he seemed to have felt something in his leg.”
England’s medical team was present to assist Saka off the field once it was confirmed he could not continue, and the 23-year-old appeared visibly uncomfortable as he exited Wembley Stadium.
Social media captured footage of Saka limping away, a sight that will undoubtedly concern Mikel Arteta.
Saka has had a stellar start to the season with the Gunners, netting two goals and providing seven assists in seven matches.
With Martin Odegaard also unavailable due to injury, Arteta may find it challenging to cope with Saka’s potential absence, as both players are crucial to the team’s creativity during this pivotal phase of the season.
Arsenal will take on Bournemouth next weekend after the international break, followed by a Champions League encounter against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates Stadium.
Subsequently, the Gunners will host Liverpool before heading to Newcastle and then Chelsea, presenting a challenging series of matches for Arteta’s team.
The club is optimistic that Saka will be available for these fixtures, with a crucial indication of his fitness expected on Sunday when England faces Finland in Helsinki.
Should the forward be included in Carsley’s squad, Arsenal can feel reassured, provided he completes the match without exacerbating his existing issue or incurring a new injury.
