BREAKING – Liverpool has made a significant decision regarding Federico Chiesa…
Liverpool has come to an important resolution about Federico Chiesa.
A critical verdict has been reached by Liverpool concerning Federico Chiesa.
The club Liverpool has finalized a crucial decision about Federico Chiesa.
Arne Slot has refuted claims that Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa might be loaned out in January due to his recent injury issues at Anfield.
In a press conference prior to the EFL Cup match against Brighton on Wednesday, the Dutch manager stated that the idea of Chiesa leaving on loan “hasn’t crossed his mind at all,” despite reports from Italy suggesting that Serie A clubs are interested in bringing him back.
Slot also indicated that Chiesa is unlikely to be included in the squad for the Brighton match and may face an extended period on the sidelines after missing the last five games.
However, a January exit for the 27-year-old seems improbable, especially after he joined Liverpool from Juventus for a reduced fee of £12.5 million in August.
“That hasn’t gone through my mind at all. The priority is for him to regain his fitness, and then we can assess his situation,” Slot remarked.
He added that Chiesa’s absence from pre-season training, where he participated in low-intensity sessions with only a few players, contributed to his current predicament.
Since his transfer from Juventus, Chiesa has made only three appearances for Liverpool, providing an assist in their 5-1 win over West Ham United in the EFL Cup.
The 27-year-old was not included in Thiago Motta’s plans at Juventus at the beginning of the summer and did not train with the main squad before signing a four-year contract with Liverpool in August.
His tenure at Juventus was marred by injuries, limiting him to just 35 Serie A appearances during his second and third years at the club due to various setbacks from 2021 to 2023.
Chiesa has also been absent from the Italian national team since Euro 2024, with Luciano Spalletti omitting him from the Azzurri squad for the last four Nations League matches due to ongoing fitness issues.
The 27-year-old made 33 appearances in Serie A during his last season with Juventus, netting nine goals and contributing three assists.
