Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest: Team News, Predicted Lineup, and Injury Updates
Following the international break, Arsenal is set to resume their Premier League campaign with optimism regarding the fitness of several key players ahead of today’s match against Nottingham Forest.
Mikel Arteta welcomed back Martin Odegaard to the squad before the break after he spent three months recovering from an ankle injury, and there is further encouraging news for the team.
Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka did not participate in England’s matches during the international period; Rice is recovering from a broken toe, while Saka is managing a minor injury sustained during the match against Chelsea.
However, Arteta confirmed on Friday that both players have returned to training, and he also indicated that Riccardo Calafiori is expected to feature in Saturday’s game.
Calafiori has been rehabilitating a knee injury sustained against Shakhtar Donetsk last month and remained at the training facility to continue his recovery during the break.
“Riccy trained today,” Arteta stated. “His rehabilitation has progressed well, and he will be included in the squad.”
On a less positive note, Leandro Trossard sustained an injury while representing Belgium against Israel.
Fortunately, after evaluation upon his return, he appears to be on track to recover in time for the match.
A significant setback for Arsenal is the long-term injury to Ben White, who has been playing through discomfort in recent weeks.
The right-back underwent minor knee surgery during the international break and is expected to be sidelined for several months as he begins his recovery process.
Takehiro Tomiyasu is also continuing his rehabilitation from a knee issue, while fellow full-back Kieran Tierney remains unavailable.
Projected Arsenal Starting XI Against Nottingham Forest:
Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Odegaard, Partey, Rice, Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
