Arsenal receives a transfer boost as they prepare a £52m bid for Arteta’s top target…

Arsenal has received a significant transfer advantage as a £52 million offer is reportedly being arranged for Arteta’s primary target, following the striker’s affirmative response.

Arsenal is reportedly gearing up to make an offer for Sporting Lisbon forward Victor Gyokeres in the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners have already secured the services of Italy international Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee of approximately £42m.

Despite this signing, Arsenal is still on the lookout for additional players, particularly a new striker and center-midfielder.

Kai Havertz emerged as Mikel Arteta’s preferred forward last season, surpassing Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.

However, Arsenal is expected to make further additions in this position due to potential departures.

Arsenal, the Premier League runners-up from last season, have been rumored to be interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli and Ivan Toney from Brentford.

However, recent reports suggest that Gyokeres has become their top priority.

The Swedish international had an outstanding first season at Sporting Lisbon in the 2023/24 season after his transfer from Coventry City for £17m.

He scored 43 goals and provided 15 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Although Gyokeres has a release clause of €100m (£86m) in his contract, Arsenal is looking to secure his signature for a lower fee.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal is ready to make a bid for Gyokeres, but there seems to be a difference in valuation between the two parties.

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to offer around €60 million (£52m) for Gyokeres, but Sporting Lisbon are holding out for at least €70m (£60m) this transfer window.

The potential transfer of Gyokeres to Arsenal may hinge on Nketiah’s departure. Marseille from Ligue Un are showing interest in the Englishman.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Nketiah’s situation on Wednesday morning, stating that the player has agreed to move to Marseille.

In a tweet, he wrote: “Olympique Marseille are continuing to work on deals for both Eddie Nketiah and Valentin Carboni.”

Carboni has nearly finished discussing the details verbally, but we are still awaiting approval for all the documents for Valentin to travel this weekend.

Nketiah has agreed to the OM project, but there is still no agreement with Arsenal on the fee.
