Arsenal have been given a significant boost ahead of the Premier League title race run-in with Manchester City, as Jurrien Timber has finally returned to training with the team. This news comes as a welcome development for Mikel Arteta, who has been handed a six-man boost with the return of one of their summer signings.

Arsenal’s injury situation has improved with Jurrien Timber’s return to training. Timber has been involved in group activities with the senior squad, although he is still working independently as he gradually integrates back into full training. This is positive news for Mikel Arteta’s side as they prepare for the title race against Manchester City.

Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost with the return of Jurrien Timber to training.

According to football.london, Timber has been involved in some team sessions with the first team but is not yet fully back in training. The Dutch player is still doing individual work and is slowly reintegrating into the squad as they prepare for the title race against Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta provided an update last week, confirming that the £38million summer signing is making progress in his recovery from a knee injury.

“I am really optimistic about his progress,” Arteta expressed when questioned about Timber’s potential return before the season concludes. “He has been training alongside some of our players on the field, and in the upcoming week, we will gradually involve him in certain activities.”

“Subsequently, we will assess his development, including his confidence and fitness levels, with the hope that the answer will be positive.”

In the meantime, Arsenal has made a tactical adjustment by deploying Ben White as an inverted right-sided player, while Jakub Kiwior assumes the more conventional full-back role on the left. This adaptation could potentially benefit Timber upon his return to action, considering his impressive performances on both sides during pre-season.

Timber is anticipated to make his comeback as the sixth player returning from injury, assuming there are no additional complications. Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira have already reunited with the squad, and there is optimism that Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey, and Oleksandr Zinchenko will soon be back in action as well.

On March 31, City will confront Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in a potentially pivotal match in the Premier League title race.
