Arsenal player ratings against Tottenham show standout performances from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka in hard-fought derby victory…
Arsenal player ratings against Tottenham showcased the standout performances of Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka in a tense North London Derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
David Raya had an unfortunate moment, allowing Spurs to get back into the game with an unexpected error. However, apart from that blunder, he had a decent performance, which is uncharacteristic of the usually consistent Spaniard. Rating: 5.
Ben White’s consistency has become a regular feature, making it almost redundant to mention it. Starting with a base rating of six, it’s safe to say that he deserves a seven for his consistently impressive displays. Rating: 7.
Gabriel demonstrated his defensive prowess in the first half when Arsenal had to defend deep. He also showcased his ability on the ball in the second half when the team pushed forward. His performance highlighted his versatility as a center-back. Rating: 7.
William Saliba cannot be held responsible for Raya’s mistake, as he did his part in the game. Apart from that, he had a solid performance and played a crucial role in Arsenal’s resilience towards the end of the match. Rating: 7.
Takehiro Tomiyasu: Showed some initial sloppiness on the ball during the early exchanges, but demonstrated significant improvement as the game progressed. While solid in one-vs-one duels, his ball control was not always the best. 6.
Martin Odegaard: Initially not heavily involved in the game, Odegaard displayed moments of quality during brief spells on the ball, complemented by his exceptional work rate off it. He became more influential in the second half. 6.
Declan Rice: Played a more defensive role in the left eight position compared to the previous match, limiting his forward movements. Despite performing well defensively for the most part, his challenge for the penalty was tired and poor. 6.
Bukayo Saka: Once again contributed with goals in the North London Derby, showcasing his love for these games. His key role in Arsenal’s counterattacks against Spurs was evident. 8.
Kai Havertz: Delivered an impressive performance as a center forward for the German team. His sublime pass to Saka for the goal and his movement for the header were particularly noteworthy. 8.
Leandro Trossard had a subdued performance today. He was dispossessed a few times in the first half, but showed good defensive work off the ball when needed. Rating: 6.
SUBSTITUTES –
Gabriel Martinelli: Another disappointing performance from the Brazilian substitute, who seems to be lacking confidence at the moment. He failed to make an impact in crucial moments and struggled to get past van de Ven. However, he did show good defensive work towards the end of the game. Rating: 6.
Jakub Kiwior: Substituted too late to receive a rating. n/a.
