Arsenal is set to engage in transfer discussions with the agent of a ‘lightning’ striker, according to a journalist.

Arsenal is preparing to hold discussions regarding a transfer with the agent of a striker celebrated for his ‘lightning’ quickness.

Currently, Arsenal is facing challenges in the Premier League, falling short of expectations.

Predicted to be title contenders this season, Mikel Arteta’s team finds itself nine points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

A significant factor contributing to Arsenal’s difficulties is their inability to score in critical situations. Kai Havertz has netted just four goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season.

Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka has provided seven assists in 10 league matches but has only managed to score three times.

To address this scoring issue, Arsenal is planning to pursue Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reports that the Gunners are keen on acquiring the striker from Juventus, who are reportedly open to selling the 24-year-old Serbian and are exploring alternative options.

Vlahovic, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, has been with Juventus since January 2022 after transferring from Fiorentina.

This season, he has scored six goals in 12 Serie A matches and has added three goals and one assist in four UEFA Champions League games.

Manchester City is also monitoring the striker, who had an impressive tally of 16 goals and four assists in 27 Serie A starts last season.

Former Manchester City player Micah Richards has long been an admirer of Vlahovic, dating back to his time at Fiorentina.

In December 2021, Richards praised Vlahovic on BBC Radio 5 Live, stating, “I have watched him a couple of times now. He is lightning.

It’s ridiculous. He has got 16 in 18 this season. His left foot is like a wand.” He further emphasized, “I am telling you now, he is everything you need.”
