Arsenal are leading the race to secure the services of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko for a reported fee of £60m.

Edu is contemplating a £60m offer for RB Leipzig’s 20-year-old forward from Slovenia, Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko, who has found the net in his last six matches, recently scored against Borussia Dortmund, the finalists of the Champions League.

Elvis Basanovic, his agent, was seen at the Emirates Stadium during Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Chelsea last month.

The tall striker from Leipzig finished the Bundesliga season strongly by scoring in seven consecutive matches, bringing his total to 18 goals, attracting interest from the Premier League.

Standing at a commanding 6’5, the gifted 20-year-old perfectly matches Arsenal sporting director Edu’s philosophy of acquiring young players whose potential can be realized right away.

Sesko’s contract at the Red Bull Arena is rumored to have a mere £55 million release clause. This is significantly less expensive than Arsenal pursuing long-term targets like Alexander Isak of Newcastle and Ivan Toney of Brentford.

But with Chelsea and Manchester United vying for their attention and the possibility that Leipzig will strike the cut-price release clause from Sesko’s contract, Arsenal might need to act swiftly.
