Arsenal is currently engaged in negotiations with an exciting striker and is prepared to extend a contract until 2029. The club recognizes the need to strengthen their front line with a proven goal scorer for the upcoming season.
It is widely acknowledged that Arsenal is in need of a proficient goal scorer to strengthen their front line in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kai Havertz has made a significant contribution to the team’s goal tally this season, notably scoring two more goals against his former club Chelsea on Tuesday. This brings his total goals for the 2023/24 campaign to 12, as reported by WhoScored.
Furthermore, Arsenal as a collective unit has emerged as the highest-scoring team in the Premier League, having netted a remarkable 82 goals.
Considering Gabriel Jesus’ consistent goal-scoring ability when he is not sidelined by injuries, some argue that the Gunners may not have a great deal to be concerned about.
Arsenal’s interest lies in acquiring Joshua Zirkzee during the upcoming summer transfer window. However, unlike their competitors for the title this season, Manchester City and Liverpool, Arsenal lacks a game-changer like Mo Salah or Erling Haaland who consistently deliver goals.
Crucial goals are essential, especially in matches where both teams are evenly matched.
Bologna’s talented 22-year-old forward, Joshua Zirkzee, has impressively scored 12 goals this season according to WhoScored. Unlike players like Havertz, who operate as attacking midfielders or secondary strikers, Zirkzee is a true center-forward.
Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Zirkzee could potentially develop and enhance his skills, just like many other players who have shown improvement over the past few seasons.
According to Tuttosport newspaper’s Wednesday edition, Arsenal is currently engaged in discussions with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, and is prepared to present the striker with a contract extension until 2029, accompanied by a substantial annual salary of €6m.
The progress of these negotiations remains uncertain, but the report also reveals that Zirkzee is the club’s top priority for this summer’s transfer window.
However, Arsenal may face stiff competition for the player’s signature, as Milan, Aston Villa, Internazionale, and Manchester United have all expressed interest in acquiring his services.
It is worth noting that Joorabchian has a longstanding relationship with Arsenal, as highlighted by All Football, which could potentially give the Gunners an advantage in their pursuit of the player. Ultimately, Zirkzee will have the final say in determining his next destination.
