Arsenal Injury Update: Gabriel, Calafiori, Timber – Return Dates Ahead of Everton Match…
Arsenal’s latest injury report highlights Gabriel, Calafiori, and Timber, providing insights into their return dates in preparation for the Everton match.
Gabriel, Calafiori, and Timber – Recent updates on Arsenal’s injuries and expected return timelines for the match against Everton.
Mikel Arteta continues to navigate injury concerns as Arsenal prepares for their upcoming match against Everton, despite two fitness doubts participating in the recent game against Monaco.
The situation remains mixed for Arteta, with some injury worries alleviated while others persist.
Six players were absent from the open training session at London Colney on Tuesday, including Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber, who have recently joined the list of unavailable players.
Arteta provided limited information regarding his full-backs ahead of the Fulham match last weekend, although both were included in the squad for the Champions League fixture against Monaco on Wednesday.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu were not expected to feature, as Arteta confirmed they would be sidelined until the new year.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori remain out, casting doubt on their availability for the weekend’s encounter with Everton.
In light of this, football.london has compiled the latest injury updates as the Gunners return to the Emirates Stadium for their Premier League clash on Saturday.
Gabriel
Injury: Muscle strain.
Gabriel Magalhaes exited early during the match against West Ham in late November, having sustained the initial injury the previous week against Sporting CP.
Consequently, he has missed Premier League fixtures against Manchester United and Fulham, as well as the Champions League match against Monaco.
Arteta’s comments: “We need to manage several players. Some may not be fit, and others remain uncertain.
“We have 24 hours to make a decision, and we hope to make the right choices.”
“Big Gabi has not experienced a muscular injury before, but he is currently playing a lot, traveling, and starting for Brazil.”
Expected return: Everton (H) – Saturday, December 4.
Riccardo Calafiori
Injury: Groin.
Riccardo Calafiori was substituted early during the 5-2 win over West Ham and has not participated in any matches since.
Similar to Gabriel, the Italian international was absent from the matchday squad for the game against Monaco.
Arteta’s comments: “We need to manage many players. Some may not be fit, and others remain uncertain. We have 24 hours to make a decision, and we hope to make the right choices.
“We need to keep him [Calafiori] contained because he is eager to train and play. His enthusiasm is commendable, but we must temper it.
His issues began with a kick while with the national team, followed by a knee problem.
“After that, he faced several setbacks. Due to his injuries, he had to play more than we intended, and then he encountered a groin issue.”
Expected return: Everton (H) – Saturday, December 4.
Jurrien Timber
Injury: Unknown.
Jurrien Timber was absent from Arsenal’s open training session on Tuesday prior to the Champions League match against Monaco, despite having played the full 90 minutes against Fulham over the weekend.
Concerns about his fitness persisted, yet he was named on the bench for the Monaco match and participated for the last 30 minutes.
Arteta’s comments: “We need to manage many players. Some may not be fit, and others are still uncertain.
“We have 24 hours to make a decision, and we hope to make the right choices.”
Expected return: Returned.
Thomas Partey
Injury: Unknown.
Although Thomas Partey played the entire match in the 1-1 draw with Fulham, he was also notably absent from the training session at London Colney on Tuesday afternoon, similar to Timber.
Despite fitness concerns, Partey was included in the starting lineup against Monaco and completed the full match.
Arteta’s comments: “We need to manage many players. Some may not be fit, and others are still uncertain. We have 24 hours to make a decision, and we hope to make the right choices.”
Expected return: Returned.
Ben White
Injury: Unknown.
Ben White recently underwent surgery during the international break in November to address a persistent knee problem.
Arteta’s comments: “Ben will be sidelined for several months. We had to make a decision in recent weeks, and unfortunately, it reached a stage where we needed to prioritize the player’s well-being, leading us to opt for surgery.”
Estimated return: January/February.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Injury: Knee.
Takehiro Tomiyasu has only participated for seven minutes in the 2024/25 season due to a knee injury that is currently preventing him from playing.
Arteta’s comments: “Tomiyasu will be out for a while. He will be taking some time away to change his surroundings, as it has been quite challenging for him.
“We want to provide him with the best chance to recover, but patience will be necessary.”
Estimated return: Unknown.
