Arsenal plans medical examination after reaching agreement for top-rated prospect.

Tommy Setford scheduled for medical examination following Arsenal’s agreement with Ajax for promising goalkeeper.

Ajax reluctantly agrees to transfer England U20 international.

Arsenal are on the verge of securing the services of Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford. A transfer fee of around €1million (£840,000) has been agreed for the England Under-20 international.

Setford, who was in the final year of his contract at Ajax, will now finalize personal terms and undergo a medical examination after the Dutch club reluctantly agreed to his departure instead of losing him for free next summer.

The 18-year-old prospect is poised for a promising future and is set to become the second youthful goalkeeper Arsenal has secured this season, following the acquisition of Lucas Nygaard from FC Nordsjaelland last month.

Regarding departures, Arsenal is on the verge of finalizing the exits of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares.

Lokonga has successfully sealed a loan move to Sevilla. The agreement includes an option for a permanent transfer next summer for approximately £10m, with Arsenal entitled to a 25% sell-on clause if Sevilla exercises this option.

Tavares is also departing on loan, but his deal includes an obligation for a permanent transfer next summer.

In total, Arsenal stands to make around £7m to £7.5m from his sale.

Arsenal have also negotiated a substantial sell-on clause as part of the agreement, which is believed to exceed 25 percent.

The Gunners have already reaped the rewards of similar clauses, earning approximately £4m from Omari Hutchinson’s transfer from Chelsea to Ipswich earlier this year.

Tavares has completed a medical examination with Lazio in Italy over the weekend, and his transfer is expected to be finalized soon.
