Agreement in place: Arsenal is on the verge of signing their next Cazorla in a thrilling £50 million player.

Arsenal’s potential acquisition of a new talent reminiscent of Santi Cazorla is generating excitement, particularly with the emergence of a “dynamic” £50 million prospect.

In the early moments of the 2014 FA Cup final, Arsenal found themselves in a precarious position, trailing 2-0 to Hull City after just eight minutes.

This was a pivotal moment for Arsene Wenger, who was eager to end the club’s lengthy trophy drought, yet their hopes seemed to diminish before they could even mount a challenge.

However, Arsenal’s storied relationship with the FA Cup has always been remarkable.

With a record 14 victories, the club’s affinity for this prestigious tournament was on full display that day at Wembley.

The Gunners rallied back, thanks to Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey, who each contributed to the comeback with an equalizer and a decisive goal in extra time.

The catalyst for this resurgence was none other than Santi Cazorla, who ignited the team’s spirit.

From a considerable distance, Cazorla executed a stunning free-kick that sailed past Hull’s goalkeeper, Allan McGregor, marking one of the many unforgettable moments he delivered during his tenure at Arsenal.

It is unfortunate that his time in north London concluded under such difficult circumstances.

Reflecting on Santi Cazorla’s tenure at Arsenal, the talented Spaniard joined the club in August 2012 for a mere £15 million—a fee that now seems astonishingly low.

This transfer is regarded as one of the most astute in the club’s history, as Cazorla consistently dazzled fans with his remarkable goals and assists at the Emirates Stadium.

Who could forget his hat-trick against Reading, his precise corners taken with his weaker foot, or that mesmerizing solo run against Manchester City?

Cazorla is celebrated as one of the most technically proficient players to grace Arsenal in the past 15 years, showcasing some of the most agile and graceful footwork seen at the Emirates.

Wenger praised Cazorla’s exceptional abilities, although his Premier League journey did not conclude in a storybook manner.

“It is a pleasure to watch him. It’s a delight to see what he did on the pitch. I hope every young football player in England watches him,” Wenger remarked about Cazorla.

After 180 appearances, 29 goals, and 44 assists, he left the club in 2018 upon the conclusion of his contract, following a challenging period marked by injuries.

This was an incredibly difficult time for a player of such exceptional talent, as the Spanish midfielder faced the grim possibility of never walking again.

What was the cause of his troubles? In November 2015, Cazorla sustained a fracture in his ankle and also dealt with knee ligament damage, enduring increasing discomfort until he was substituted during a match against Ludogorets in October 2016.

Wenger acknowledged that it wasn’t a “major injury,” yet the former Malaga player never donned an Arsenal jersey again.

The reason? A severe infection in his right ankle, which required a skin graft for resolution.

Referring to himself as “a jigsaw puzzle,” Cazorla has parts of his left forearm on his right ankle, a section of thigh in its place, and the back of a leg in one heel.

While the situation is quite alarming, it is remarkable that he has continued to play until the age of 40, currently with Real Oviedo.

Although the Spanish star did not receive the farewell he deserved from Arsenal, the club may have the opportunity to sign their next Cazorla next year.

Arsenal is reportedly in pursuit of their next Cazorla.

Recent reports from Spain indicate that the club is on track to acquire Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro.

It is believed that the Premier League team has reached an ‘agreement in principle’ to sign the 21-year-old, having expressed their willingness to meet his £50m release clause.

So, who is Moleiro, and what can he contribute to the team? The video below showcases the young talent’s abilities.

He shares a similar style to Cazorla, demonstrating quick footwork and the capacity to maneuver the ball while maintaining possession in tight situations and amidst defenders.

Spanish football expert Neal Gardner describes him as an “agile, electric” talent and praises him as “an excellent dribbler,” further solidifying the comparisons to Cazorla.

They can both operate effectively from the wings and central positions, utilizing their impressive skill sets to outmaneuver defenders across various areas of the pitch.

Moleiro frequently appears in the attacking third, demonstrating a knack for scoring and assisting, reminiscent of Cazorla.

He has netted four goals this season and contributed to eight goals last season, showcasing his potential at a young age (4 goals and 4 assists).

While his statistics may not yet be extraordinary, he possesses a remarkable skill set, ranking in the top 17% of similar players in LaLiga for attempted dribbles and the top 14% for pass completion rate (82.5%).

These figures highlight his creativity and poise on the ball.

Investing £50 million in such an unrefined talent may seem excessive, but the positive feedback and his experience in high-level football at a young age support this valuation.
