Arsenal has made a bid for an outstanding Euro 2024 star, vowing to crush the chances of Liverpool and Chelsea.

Arsenal have made a bid for highly sought-after Euro 2024 star Riccardo Calafiori, positioning themselves as frontrunners in the competition to secure his services.

The Italian center-back showcased an impressive performance during the group stages of the tournament before missing out on the Round of 16 match against Switzerland due to suspension.

Calafiori’s standout displays have captured the attention of several top clubs in Europe, including Chelsea and Liverpool, who are also vying for his signature.

Juventus, under the management of Thiago Motta, are also interested in acquiring Calafiori this transfer window, with the former Bologna player eager for a swift reunion with the talented defender.

Arsenal have initiated the first significant move in the competition. As per the latest edition of Corriere dello Sport, they have proposed an offer of €47m (£39.8m) for the 22-year-old player.

Bologna promptly turned down the offer and communicated to Arsenal’s sporting director Edu that they will only consider a bid of €50m (£42.4m).

Despite this setback, Arsenal remains undeterred. The report suggests that they have assured Bologna that they are prepared to present a new offer to meet the €50m valuation.

Chelsea May Enter the Fray for Italian Talent.

Insiders informed TEAMtalk on Tuesday that Chelsea are also likely to make an offer for Calafiori, indicating that the battle for the defender’s signature may not be concluded just yet.

Enzo Maresca’s team faces a challenge as Chelsea cannot provide Champions League football to Calafiori, a key factor in his decision-making process.

Juventus, on the other hand, may struggle to meet his €50m price tag, which Arsenal has already agreed to match.

While Liverpool’s position remains undisclosed in the report, it is clear that they are in the market for a new centre-back and could potentially enter the race.

Mikel Arteta is satisfied with his current Arsenal centre-back duo of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba but is seeking additional competition in case of injuries.

On several occasions during the last two seasons, this has occurred and it has adversely impacted their chances of winning the Premier League title.

Calafiori undeniably possesses the potential to become a valuable long-term asset for the North London club, and they appear resolute in securing his services, if reports from Italy are accurate.

The progression of this narrative in the upcoming days will be intriguing, but it appears that Arsenal are currently leading the race to secure Calafiori’s signature.
