Arsenal has been advised to prepare a hefty sum of €50 million if they wish to secure the services of 22-year-old Serie A prospect Joshua Zirkzee.

Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Sport Witness, reveals that Arsenal is determined to strengthen their attacking lineup for the upcoming season and has identified Zirkzee as their desired number nine.

However, acquiring the talented striker will come at a significant cost, with the price tag estimated at approximately €50 million.

Arsenal is prepared to spend a significant amount of money, around €50 million, in order to secure the services of 22-year-old Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee. Reports from Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness indicate that Arsenal is looking to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.

The Gunners are targeting Zirkzee as their new number nine, despite the hefty price tag attached to the young striker.

Joshua Zirkzee’s ascent at Bologna has been nothing short of remarkable. After emerging through the ranks at Bayern Munich, he made the move to Italy in the summer of 2022. Although his time at the German club may not have panned out as expected, he has truly flourished since joining Bologna. Not only has he consistently improved, but his exceptional performances have also garnered widespread attention and acclaim.

During his debut season with the Serie A club, Zirkzee had limited playing time, accumulating less than 900 minutes on the field and contributing to just four goals. However, significant progress has been made since then. Now a regular fixture in the first team, the 22-year-old has made a significant impact, contributing to an impressive tally of 17 goals.

Across 29 appearances in various competitions, Zirkzee has amassed over 2,300 minutes of playing time, showcasing his prowess by scoring 11 goals and providing six assists. His outstanding form has attracted interest from clubs throughout Europe, potentially setting the stage for a fierce bidding war in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Bologna’s high valuation

According to reports, Bologna is aiming to earn €80 million from the sale of the young Dutch forward, who has attracted interest from Arsenal. The Gunners have been monitoring Zirkzee closely as they seek to acquire a top-tier striker.

Mikel Arteta is dissatisfied with the performance of his current strikers and is eager to bring in a player with a unique skill set, with the 22-year-old being a perfect fit. Arsenal was optimistic that their positive relationship with the player’s agents would assist them in finalizing a deal.

Unfortunately, the hefty price tag could pose a major obstacle. Arsenal has been eyeing him for some time, and previous reports indicated that the Dutch forward could be acquired for about €45 million.

However, his impressive goal-scoring record has significantly raised his market value. While Bologna is open to selling him, they are holding out for €50 million, influenced in part by Rasmus Hojlund’s expensive transfer to Manchester United.
