Arsenal has received guidance from Patrick Vieira on the reasons behind the need to beat Man City to the £68m transfer.

Patrick Vieira has emphasized the importance of Arsenal securing a £68m transfer deal ahead of Manchester City.

Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is on the verge of a lucrative move that could propel him to becoming one of the top players in the Premier League.

The talented England international has impressed with his outstanding performances at Selhurst Park in the last couple of years.

Having joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, Eze has amassed over 120 appearances for the Eagles and has now become their most prized asset following Michael Olise’s departure to Bayern Munich.

Tottenham and Arsenal have both shown interest in the attacking midfielder in recent times, with Manchester City also considering a potential move for the player, who is valued at £68 million, as they explore options to replace Kevin De Bruyne.

Eze has three years remaining on his contract in south London and is reported to have a £60m release clause plus add-ons.

Mikel Arteta already possesses one of the best players in that position with Martin Odegaard, however, a move for Eze would be a logical choice.

Emile Smith Rowe has been the target of an unsuccessful bid by Palace this month.

The academy graduate’s future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain, having lost his place in Arteta’s preferred lineup due to form and injuries.

In addition to his ability to play in wide positions, Eze would provide a significant boost to the depth of the Gunners squad.

If Smith Rowe and/or Reiss Nelson were to leave, acquiring a new attack-minded midfielder would become a top priority for Edu Gaspar.

Eze’s impressive performances for Palace have established him as one of the Premier League’s standout players outside of the top six clubs.

Following his recent breakthrough into the England national team, his services are in high demand. For Arsenal, signing him should be an obvious decision.

Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, who coached Eze at Crystal Palace, commended the Greenwich-born talent during his tenure at Selhurst Park. Following Eze’s impressive display against Liverpool in 2022, Vieira expressed his satisfaction, stating: “Eze showcased his talent in that action.

“It’s easy to overlook the fact that he was sidelined due to injury for a significant period last year, but now he’s reaching his peak.”

“What he requires at this point is consistent game time. I believe he was exceptional today.”

In October of the same year, Vieira praised Eze’s adaptability to play in the central midfield position, a role he could potentially fulfill under Arteta if signed.

“Although it’s a new position for him, he possesses the quality to excel,” Vieira elaborated.

“When you compare his first game in that role to the subsequent matches, you can see that he’s grown more confident and grasped the responsibilities of that position. It’s important to allow him the necessary time to continue developing.”

“He needs to show more decisiveness in the attacking third, as I believe he possesses the ability to increase his goal-scoring output and influence the outcome of the match – he is capable of achieving that.”
