‘Arsenal fear no-one in Champions League quarters – us players will take on any team’…Martin Odegaard has sent out a clear message to Arsenal’s Champions League rivals ahead of Friday’s draw…
Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, has made it clear that the team is not afraid of any opponent in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Regardless of whether they face reigning champions Manchester City or any other top club, Odegaard believes that Arsenal is prepared to take on any challenge.
The Gunners have shown their determination by reaching the last eight for the first time in over a decade, and they are ready to face the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Paris-Saint Germain.
1Arsenal will be part of the draw in Nyon on Friday, joining the elite teams of Europe after advancing to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2010 with a victory over Porto in a penalty shootout.
They will face tough competition from reigning champions City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Paris-Saint Germain.
Arsenal’s Odegaard emphasizes that Mikel Arteta’s team is eager to compete on the grandest stage of European club football.
He expressed their desire to face tough opponents and strive for major titles. Odegaard stressed that regardless of the opponent, they are prepared to give their best and aim for victory.
Despite Arsenal’s 30-year European trophy drought, Odegaard believes that the team has more to offer and is focused on continuous improvement to achieve their goals.
Odegaard expressed his aspirations, stating, “Our aim is to compete on the grandest stage. We desire to participate in the most significant matches and vie for the most prestigious trophies. That is where we strive to be. Frankly, we cannot have the mindset of avoiding any particular opponent.
This tournament is the pinnacle of football worldwide, and regardless of the team we face, it will undoubtedly be a formidable challenge. Nevertheless, we will accept whatever comes our way and endeavor to emerge victorious.”
Despite Arsenal’s 30-year drought in European triumphs, Odegaard believes that their best performances are yet to come, even though they are currently on track to secure a Premier League and Champions League Double.
He further stated, “Every time we step onto the field, our objective is to win. We are determined to compete for every available trophy. That is our ultimate goal. However, as I have emphasized numerous times, we must approach each game and each step with utmost focus and concentration.”
“There is still ample room for improvement, and that is where our attention should be directed as we progress towards the end of the season. Only then will we discover what lies ahead.”
