Predicted Arsenal Starting XI (4-3-3) against Manchester City: Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz set to feature
In today’s highly anticipated Premier League encounter, Arsenal will be making their way to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City.
With an impressive eight consecutive victories in the top-flight, the Gunners currently sit at the summit of the table, showcasing their exceptional form.
Nonetheless, their title aspirations will be put to the test as they go up against Manchester City at the Etihad, a venue where they have not emerged victorious since January 2015.
Arsenal is set to face Manchester City in a highly anticipated Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium. The Gunners have been in excellent form, with eight consecutive wins in the top-flight, placing them at the top of the table. However, their title aspirations will be put to the test against Manchester City, as they have not secured a victory at the Etihad since January 2015.
Manager Mikel Arteta is facing some injury concerns ahead of the game. Here is a potential line-up for Arsenal.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Projected Line-up:
David Raya has been the preferred choice in goal for Arsenal throughout most of the season. He showcased his brilliance in the previous match against Porto.
The Spanish goalkeeper made an outstanding save during regular time and went on to save two penalties in the shootout victory. It is anticipated that he will start in goal.
In the defensive line, Ben White and Jakub Kiwior are likely to retain their positions as the right-back and left-back respectively.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is gradually regaining his form after recovering from his injury. However, based on current form and better defensive focus, Kiwior is our preferred choice.
William Saliba is expected to partner with Gabriel Magalhaes at the center of the defense.
Gabriel had to withdraw from international duty due to a swollen Achilles issue. Nevertheless, considering his high pain tolerance, we anticipate his return to the team.
In the heart of the park, Jorginho is likely to partner with Declan Rice once again, while Martin Odegaard takes up a position in an advanced role.
Mikel Arteta will seek the defensive stability provided by Jorginho and Rice, who previously performed well against Liverpool’s midfield in February.
Up top, Kai Havertz is expected to lead the line, having found the net in his last four league outings.
Despite a minor hamstring issue, Bukayo Saka’s excellent fitness should see him start on the right wing.
On the opposite flank, Gabriel Jesus may get the nod over Leandro Trossard, despite the latter’s crucial goal in the recent Champions League victory over Porto.
Jesus brings speed, dribbling ability, and familiarity with City’s style of play, having spent several seasons at the club.
Gabriel Martinelli’s availability remains uncertain due to a foot injury, but he could still make the bench, as he did in the previous encounter.
The Brazilian substitute scored a crucial goal in the 86th minute to secure a late victory over Cityzens. This marked the club’s initial league triumph against City in 13 matches.
