Arsenal confirms agreement: Arsenal set to secure a very exciting player that Tottenham was said to be the frontrunner for – Romano ‘Deal has been agreed’…
Arsenal is on the verge of finalizing a deal for a highly anticipated player, despite reports that Tottenham was initially leading the race.
Agreement has been reached by Arsenal: nearing the signing of an extremely promising player that Tottenham was rumored to be interested in
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have not made many moves in the transfer market since the window opened. They have only made one senior signing each.
England youth international goalkeeper Tommy Setford joined Arsenal from Ajax recently, but he will start off in the Hale End setup.
On the other hand, Spurs acquired Archie Gray from Leeds United. Despite also being 18 years old, he has been placed in the senior setup.
Nonetheless, Wednesday afternoon saw significant progress in Arsenal’s pursuit of a major summer target who has also been associated with Tottenham.
Arsenal is poised to secure the signing of Riccardo Calafiori, leaving Tottenham behind in the race.
Talks have been ongoing between Arsenal and the player, while Spurs were previously reported to be leading the pursuit.
However, recent developments have seen Arsenal overtake their north London rivals in the race for Calafiori’s signature.
David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal now has all agreements in place for the deal, describing it as “essentially done”.
All arrangements have been finalized for Riccardo Calafiori to transfer from Bologna to Arsenal. The 22-year-old defender is yet to undergo a medical examination and sign the contract, but the agreement is practically complete. If everything proceeds as expected, the goal is for the Italian international to join Arsenal during their tour in the USA.

Shortly after, Fabrizio Romano provided a comparable update on X, refraining from announcing “here we go” at this time.
The transfer insider revealed that Arsenal, Bologna, and Calafiori’s representatives are currently collaborating to finalize document approvals today.
Following this, they will proceed to arrange medical examinations.
Romano emphasized that there are no uncertainties regarding Calafiori’s move to Arsenal. “Only formalities remain to be completed, and once resolved… here we go,” the Italian concluded.
Arsenal, Bologna, and Calafiori’s representative are collaborating to finalize the necessary paperwork today and arrange medical examinations.
It is certain that Calafiori will be joining Arsenal by Saturday, as the agreement has been reached.
The formalities are the only remaining steps, but once everything is sorted out, the deal will be complete.
Strength in squad depth is essential for all elite clubs. The latest reports from Ornstein and Romano indicate that Calafiori’s move to Arsenal is progressing positively.
It is essential for top clubs to have depth in their squad. Arsenal and Tottenham did not meet their objectives last season, so there is room for improvement in both teams.
Having Calafiori in their squad would have been beneficial for Spurs, but it appears that Arsenal has secured the talented defender.
