Arsenal is interested in reaching an agreement for a star player valued at €70 million. The club is prepared to offer a substantial weekly wage of €115,000 to entice the player to join their ranks.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to pay Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee €115,000 per week in order to secure his services for a €70 million deal during the upcoming transfer window.

Zirkzee, who has been a standout performer for the Serie A side this season, has attracted interest from the Gunners due to his impressive goal-scoring record of 11 goals and six assists in 31 appearances.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are ready to offer the Dutchman an annual salary of €6 million, translating to €115,000 per week.

Juventus and AC Milan are not the only Serie A clubs interested in the 22-year-old player. There are other clubs in the league who are also eager to secure his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Bologna is currently valuing their striker at €70-80m, but Bayern Munich holds a significant advantage in the situation. They have the opportunity to bring him back for just €40m at the conclusion of the season.

Zirkzee may not be the ideal addition for Arsenal. The club is looking to make a big investment in a top striker this summer, and while they have been linked with Zirkzee multiple times, there are doubts about his potential.

With an average of one goal every 223 minutes for Bologna this season, Zirkzee has shown promise in his ability to create chances and link up with teammates. However, his primary responsibility is to score goals, which raises concerns about his suitability for Arsenal.

Italian media outlets have drawn comparisons between his ascent and Rasmus Hojlund, who secured a lucrative transfer to Manchester United from Atalanta last summer.

Nonetheless, we are of the opinion that Hojlund is a superior striker with a higher potential than the ex-Bayern player. Our recommendation for Mikel Arteta’s team is to steer clear of pursuing Zirkzee. Instead, we advocate for the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon in the upcoming transfer window.

The 25-year-old has impressively scored 35 goals and provided 16 assists in 41 matches in his first season. He maintains an impressive goal-scoring rate of one goal every 94 minutes for his current club.

While the former Coventry City forward may face tougher competition in the Premier League, he would undoubtedly be a more reliable addition compared to Zirkzee, who is yet to demonstrate consistency.
