Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: confirmed lineup, team news, and latest injury updates for the FA Cup.

The injury situation for Arsenal is showing signs of improvement as they prepare for a crucial third-round match.

Mikel Arteta faces significant choices regarding his squad for the FA Cup clash against Manchester United.

Following a 2-0 loss to Newcastle, which likely ends their Carabao Cup run, Arteta has emphasized his desire to secure a trophy this season.

Consequently, he is expected to field a competitive lineup, even with the north London derby against Tottenham looming on Wednesday.

Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are anticipated to feature in midfield, but Arteta must decide who will partner them.

Mikel Merino is a potential inclusion, while Jorginho or Thomas Partey could also be considered.

In the attacking front, Arsenal struggled to convert opportunities against Newcastle, and Arteta’s options are somewhat limited.

Kai Havertz is likely to retain his position as the central striker, with Gabriel Jesus possibly making a rare appearance on the right flank.

Goalkeeper Neto may finally debut after his loan from Bournemouth, but Arteta is expected to continue with David Raya in goal, supported by a solid defense that might see Riccardo Calafiori return after being rested against Newcastle.

Raheem Sterling has recovered from a knee injury, and Gabriel Martinelli, who started on Tuesday, is back in the mix after being a substitute against Brighton last weekend.

Arsenal will be missing Ben White (knee), Bukayo Saka (hamstring), and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee).

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Odegaard, Rice, Merino; Jesus, Havertz, Martinelli

Injured: Saka (hamstring), Tomiyasu (knee), White (knee)

Match details: 3pm GMT on Sunday, January 12, 2025

Location: Emirates Stadium, London

Referee: Andrew Madley
