Arne Slot addresses Trent Alexander-Arnold’s message regarding Real Madrid during Liverpool’s celebration, following the Liverpool star’s announcement about his future intentions.

The Liverpool defender appeared to suggest that there has been excessive discussion about his future when he celebrated his goal against West Ham.

However, this did not prevent Arne Slot from being questioned about the matter.

Slot indicated that there have been no developments concerning the three Liverpool players whose contracts are set to expire this summer, despite Alexander-Arnold’s notable celebration during the 5-0 victory over West Ham United.

He believes that the celebration speaks volumes.

Alexander-Arnold scored the fourth goal, joining Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and Diogo Jota on the scoresheet.

His celebration included a gesture suggesting conversation, likely in response to recent media speculation.

Recent reports from two Spanish media outlets have suggested that a transfer for the England international to Real Madrid this summer is highly probable.

Nevertheless, Slot refrains from exacerbating the situation, stating that his perspective remains unchanged, even as Alexander-Arnold, Salah, and Virgil van Dijk are eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs starting next week.

“I don’t see it as negative at all,” Slot remarked. “He [Alexander-Arnold] scored an excellent goal, and the way he celebrated conveys enough.”

“I don’t feel the need to elaborate further. I’m very pleased with Trent, just as I am with Mo and Virgil, so for me, there’s no distinction.

“Perhaps from an external viewpoint, but I’m genuinely satisfied with all three.”

“Discussions will likely intensify, not just regarding these three players but also others, as this is a period when transfers can occur,” he continued, referring to the January transfer window.

“It won’t solely focus on these three; it will also involve potential new signings or departures. This is always the case during the summer and January.”

Liverpool’s attacking players delivered another impressive performance during the game, with Salah standing out as exceptional.

His display raised post-match discussions regarding his status as potentially the best player in the world at this moment.

However, Slot cautioned that the outcome could have been different if West Ham had capitalized on their opportunities, as Mohammed Kudus struck the woodwork twice.

“It’s not often that I can simply sit back and enjoy a match,” he remarked to Sky Sports. “I recalled the situation against Tottenham when we led 5-1, only for them to narrow it to 5-3.

Today, we controlled the game and secured a 5-0 victory. It’s crucial to manage the chances we concede,” he continued.

“Today, we allowed two or three opportunities; one hit the bar and another hit the post, while Leicester had two chances and converted one on Boxing Day.

“Throughout the season, we have generated numerous chances, and on days like today, we are able to convert many of them.

However, as I mentioned to the players, while we were ahead 3-0 at halftime, it could have been different if we had scored three goals within the first ten minutes, given the number of chances we created today.”
