Liverpool has initiated discussions to acquire another star from Bayern Munich, in addition to the soon-to-be free agent Leroy Sane, as reported by recent sources.

According to sources, Liverpool is in talks to sign an additional Bayern Munich talent alongside Sane.

As Liverpool gears up for a potential summer transformation, Arne Slot has made a remarkable impact since taking over at Anfield, leading the team to a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League and maintaining an unbeaten record in the Champions League.

Slot has achieved this success with a squad largely unchanged from the one Jurgen Klopp managed before his departure, with Federico Chiesa being the sole summer signing, though injuries have limited his contributions to just three appearances thus far.

Looking ahead to 2025, the landscape is expected to shift significantly. A goalkeeping change is imminent, with Giorgi Mamardashvili confirmed to join as Alisson’s backup and likely future successor at the end of the current season.

Additionally, there are speculations regarding a replacement for left-back Andy Robertson, who is now 30 years old.

Slot had targeted a midfielder during the summer, with Martin Zubimendi being the primary choice, and plans to revisit this position next summer, despite Ryan Gravenberch’s promising performances.

Contract situations also loom large, as Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all set to be out of contract at the end of the season, with their futures uncertain amid interest from various European clubs.

This scenario suggests that significant changes could be on the horizon for the Reds, who will aim to ensure they secure value in any new signings.

Liverpool is reportedly preparing to leverage free agency next summer to secure the signing of Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.

Recent reports suggest that the club is in a favorable position to acquire Sane and is also interested in another player from Bayern, having already initiated discussions regarding a different talent from the German club.

In related news, The Boot Room has indicated that Liverpool is among several clubs that have reached out to the representatives of Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, whose contract is set to expire next summer.

As previously noted, Liverpool is actively seeking a left-back and has been linked to players such as Milos Kerkez and Antonee Robinson in recent weeks.

However, both options may prove expensive due to their ties with Premier League rivals.

In contrast, Davies could present a more cost-effective solution, although his weekly wage of £180,000 would likely exceed that of either of the aforementioned defenders.

According to the report, both Liverpool and Manchester United have made inquiries regarding Alphonso Davies, viewing his contract situation as an enticing opportunity.

However, interested clubs must act swiftly, as there are indications that Bayern has made considerable strides toward extending Davies’ contract in recent days.

While a renewal is not finalized yet, further details remain to be worked out.

Liverpool may still attempt to capitalize on this situation, but their window of opportunity could be narrowing, necessitating prompt action if they are serious about acquiring the Canadian international.
