An ESPN expert says that there is a player at Liverpool who is likely to take everyone by surprise. – ‘Going to be a big surprise’…
ESPN analyst suggests Liverpool has a player poised to astonish everyone.
A pundit from ESPN asserts that Liverpool features a player who is bound to leave everyone in awe.
Liverpool maintained a low profile during the summer transfer window, as Arne Slot inherited a high-caliber squad at Anfield.
While Slot has a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal, the club still opted to sign Federico Chiesa over the summer.
Liverpool appears well-equipped in most positions, except for the central midfield, which prompted the acquisition of Martin Zubimendi.
Curtis Jones is on the mend from injury and is expected to be available for the match against Nottingham Forest, providing the Reds with additional options in midfield.
On a less positive note, the versatile Harvey Elliott is facing a lengthy recovery after suffering a foot fracture.
Breaking into the current midfield trio will be challenging, especially with one of Liverpool’s regular starters receiving significant acclaim on ESPN.
An ESPN pundit has indicated that a young Liverpool player is set to surprise everyone this season.
Dominik Szoboszlai has garnered attention for his performances at Euro 2024 and has continued that momentum into the Premier League, already contributing a couple of assists.
However, it is one of his fellow midfielders who has recently been in the spotlight.
During a discussion on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel, Mario Melchiot highlighted Ryan Gravenberch’s potential.
“Absolutely (regarding being the season’s surprise), especially considering his last two performances—one for Liverpool and the other for the Netherlands.
“I believe he’s on a positive trajectory, but we should temper our expectations since he’s still acclimating to England. Last season was somewhat inconsistent for him.”
He later remarked.
“Now he has the opportunity to join Liverpool, working under a Dutch coach whose tactical approach aligns with his role as a link between the midfield and the defense.
“This is where he can create opportunities. The question is whether he can maintain this momentum and continue to develop.
“Certainly, this will come as a significant surprise to those in England.”
What has Rafael van der Vaart said regarding Gravenberch’s abilities? Notably, the former Premier League player has reiterated his belief that Gravenberch surpasses Jude Bellingham in skill.
He commented.
“The primary distinction between the two players is that Bellingham is at a club that is a tier below and consistently plays,” Van der Vaart explained. “In my view, Gravenberch excels in every aspect, particularly in terms of physicality.
“The crucial factor when transitioning to a new club is the initial two weeks. You must demonstrate your worth in every training session and match to validate your transfer.
“It might actually benefit Gravenberch to return on loan to Ajax. He simply needs to get back to playing football.”
