Alan Shearer offers his insights on the upcoming match between Liverpool and Chelsea this Sunday.

The clash at Anfield promises to be challenging, with Chelsea making the trip to Merseyside for this Premier League encounter.

Reece James is set to make his season debut, providing a boost to the Chelsea squad, which is otherwise fully fit.

However, they will be without defenders Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella, who are suspended for this match.

Currently, Chelsea holds the fourth position in the league standings, having had a strong start to the season, but they now face the league leaders.

In his analysis, Premier League icon Alan Shearer predicts a victory for Liverpool against Chelsea.

Shearer remarked to The Metro: “Chelsea would likely be content to leave Anfield with a draw, especially with Alisson’s injury.

Although they dropped points in their previous home match against Nottingham Forest, I believe Enzo Maresca would gladly accept a point from this fixture.

“The midfield will be crucial, and I believe Liverpool has the upper hand there, with Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis MacAllister performing exceptionally well, alongside Dominik Szoboszlai.”

The international break often complicates predictions, as it leaves uncertainty regarding players’ conditions upon their return to their clubs and their readiness to participate in the upcoming match.

“Assuming all players are fit and available, the midfield contest will be crucial, and I believe Liverpool will emerge victorious.”

Chelsea’s Away Performance

Chelsea has demonstrated exceptional form in away matches this season.

The team boasts a perfect record in their away league games thus far, having secured victories against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. They have achieved an impressive aggregate score of 10-2 in these encounters.

Chelsea aims to win their first four away matches of a league season for only the third time in history, following their successes in 2005-06 (four wins) and 2008-09 (eight wins).

Facing an in-form Liverpool side at Anfield presents a significant challenge, but there may be a slight advantage in facing them immediately after the international break.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool team has won six out of their seven league matches this season, conceding only two goals in the process. The question remains: can Chelsea’s dynamic attack penetrate their well-organized defense?
