Seb Ecrivain Foot, editor of Les Bons Conceil Du Sports, reports that the agent of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana met with Arsenal representatives in London today.

Arsenal is keen on signing the talented 22-year-old Belgian international, but they face competition from Manchester United and Chelsea for his services.

Arsenal seems to have taken the lead in the pursuit of Onana, surpassing other interested parties, as they have engaged in discussions with his agent.

In light of Thomas Partey’s injury, the North London club is eager to strengthen their midfield options, and the exceptional performances of the Everton star throughout the previous season have caught their attention.

Although the Toffees are reluctant to let go of one of their key players, their ongoing Financial Fair Play concerns might compel them to consider parting ways with him.

Luke Edwards, a journalist from the Daily Telegraph, has reported that Amadou Onana, the talented midfielder currently playing for Everton, is seriously considering a move to a bigger club this month.

While there are no guarantees, a potential switch to Arsenal is not out of the question. Onana’s impressive performances since joining Everton from Lille in 2022 for a hefty fee of £33 million have made him an integral part of the team, contributing significantly to their successful campaign last season.

Onana has maintained his exceptional form this season, playing a crucial role in their impressive performance despite the ten-point deduction they received for breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules – a decision that is currently being appealed.

The addition of such a talented player to Arsenal’s midfield would undoubtedly make them a force to be reckoned with in the center of the pitch. The combination of Declan Rice and the Belgian midfielder would pose a significant challenge for their opponents.

If Arsenal wishes to acquire Onana during the January transfer window, Everton will undoubtedly demand a substantial fee.

However, it remains uncertain whether the Gunners can afford to make such a significant investment at the moment, considering their need to adhere to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
