A Sky Sports analyst criticizes the ‘Devastated’ Tottenham player for his actions against Everton…
Tim Sherwood criticizes Richarlison for his subdued reaction after scoring two goals for Tottenham against Everton. The Sky Sports pundit describes the Brazilian international as appearing “devastated” despite his impressive performance at Goodison Park.
Richarlison’s lack of celebration clearly indicates that he still holds a great deal of respect for the Everton fans, even though he departed the club for Tottenham a year and a half ago.
He mentioned that the 26-year-old striker ought to cease “finding the back of the net” if he truly “feels so negatively” about it, as Jarrad Branthwaite’s last-minute equalizer ensured Everton earned a point in the 2-2 draw.
Sherwood emphasized the importance of acknowledging the achievement of scoring a second goal, even if the first one wasn’t celebrated. “If one feels remorseful about it, perhaps they should refrain from scoring altogether. However, observing his current state of devastation, it is crucial to uplift his spirits. Being devastated is not an appropriate response in such a situation.”
Despite departing for Tottenham 18 months ago, Richarlison’s evident lack of celebration serves as a testament to his enduring respect and appreciation for the Everton fans.
During his tenure at Goodison Park, he delivered numerous outstanding performances for the Toffees before opting for a lucrative transfer deal, showcasing his talent.
Throughout his four-year stint at Goodison Park, he displayed exceptional skills for the Toffees, leaving a lasting impression. However, when it came to celebrating his goals, he chose to exhibit minimal emotions.
He has the freedom to celebrate those goals in his own way, and on this occasion, he chose to display minimal emotion after scoring each of them.
Sherwood does not have the authority to dictate how the Brazilian should behave in those situations, simply because he may have responded differently in that particular circumstance.
