A police investigation is underway following an alleged assault outside the Amex Stadium, where Brighton and Hove Albion clashed with their fierce rivals, Crystal Palace.
Sussex Police reported that a police officer sustained injuries and several arrests were made in relation to the incidents involving fans attending the Premier League match. In connection with the assault, the police have released a photograph of a man they wish to speak with.
The altercation occurred as officers were responding to altercations between supporters.
A man is being sought by the police in connection with an alleged assault that occurred outside the Amex Stadium before the match between Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.
The police have released an image from mobile phone footage and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The man is described as white, in his 40s, with short, light coloured hair, wearing a black coat, blue jeans, white trainers, and a blue scarf.
Sussex Police, along with their partners, are working to ensure the safety of supporters during football matches and will take strong action against those who engage in disruptive or disorderly behavior.
