Pep Guardiola fires warning to Arsenal after making Man City title admission – pep Guardiola send warning to Mikel Arteta ahead of Manchester City Match…
Pep Guardiola issues a caution to Arsenal following his title remarks.
Guardiola delivers a message to Mikel Arteta ahead of the Manchester City match.
Pep Guardiola has conveyed a light-hearted warning to Mikel Arteta as they prepare for the upcoming clash between Manchester City and Arsenal.
Arteta, who spent two seasons under Guardiola before taking over at Arsenal, has transformed the team into serious title contenders.
In an interview with beIN Sports, Guardiola praised Arteta’s remarkable achievements this season, stating, “What can I say? He’s an incredible manager, and what they have accomplished with Arsenal this season is impressive.
“He will not back down; they will aim to secure a victory against us. However, we are well-prepared. I know him well, and while I have faced him before, this time I must demonstrate who truly controls the game, as the outcome rests with us.”
Erling Haaland also commented on the team’s mindset, saying, “Fantastic mentality. We focus on one game at a time and then relax.
“We came here to win, and we succeeded. Now, we must concentrate on the next match and not overthink it. Let’s unite and finish strong.”
In terms of player availability, Guardiola has confirmed that no injured Manchester City players will return for the match against Arsenal.
The Premier League champions will visit the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, looking to narrow the gap on the Gunners to three points with a win, following four victories in their last five league matches.
Guardiola indicated that he would likely field a similar squad to the one that triumphed over Club Brugge in the Champions League, stating, “No, we continue the same,” when asked about the potential return of injured players.
The upcoming match in the capital arrives too early for Ruben Dias and Jeremy Doku.
Dias requested to be substituted during Manchester City’s 4-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week, having only recently returned from a muscle injury.
Doku, on the other hand, missed the match against PSG as well as victories over Chelsea and Club Brugge, and he will not be available for the game against Arsenal.
Nathan Ake has been sidelined for the last four matches across all competitions due to a muscle injury, while young player Oscar Bobb has regained fitness after recovering from a broken leg sustained before the season started.
The 21-year-old, as confirmed by Guardiola, was considered for a return to the squad midweek but was ultimately not included, leaving his participation for the weekend uncertain.
As anticipated, Rodri will be absent as he continues to recover from a long-term ACL injury.
However, Guardiola can utilize City’s January signings Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis, and Abdukodir Khusanov, who were ineligible for the match against Club Brugge.
