BREAKING :Benjamin Sesko has already said yes to Arsenal transfer as deadline to sign him slashed…
Benjamin Sesko has already agreed to move to Arsenal, as the timeframe for completing his transfer has been cut.
Benjamin Sesko has expressed his agreement to transfer to Arsenal as the deadline for signing him approaches.
In light of their injury challenges, Arsenal is considering whether to pursue one of their summer transfer targets during the current window, facing competition from Barcelona.
Sesko has confirmed his desire to join Arsenal, providing the club with renewed motivation to expedite the transfer process.
As reported by Mirror Football’s John Cross last May, the RB Leipzig forward prefers a move to Mikel Arteta’s team over other Premier League contenders, including Manchester United and Chelsea, while also attracting interest from Italian clubs.
The Gunners had targeted Sesko last summer, but the Slovenian opted to remain at RB Leipzig for an additional season. The 21-year-old has a £60m “gentleman’s agreement” in place that permits his departure in the summer of 2025.
RB Leipzig plans to adhere to this agreement unless a substantial offer is made in January. Barcelona has also shown interest in Sesko, although their financial limitations may pose a challenge.
It is evident that Arsenal will encounter increased competition for the talented forward if they delay until summer, prompting a need to act swiftly.
The Gunners are exploring the possibility of securing one of their summer targets early and continue to show interest in Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. However, Williams’ wage expectations exceeding £300,000 per week have created obstacles.
Additionally, they are considering other options, including Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.
Securing a forward this month would alleviate some of the pressure from their injury crisis, which currently sidelines Bukayo Saka with a hamstring injury and Gabriel Jesus with a season-ending knee issue.
Arteta addressed the need to enhance his attacking options during a press conference ahead of Saturday’s match against Aston Villa.
Currently, we do not possess them. As I mentioned earlier, we are actively seeking the most effective solution.
However, we will need to wait and assess our options, Arteta stated.
“It is clear that I will not be addressing the specifics of the player profile here. We have lost two significant players in our attacking line, and we require additional support.”
